O's Top Five Foreign Policy Disasters

Last week we witnessed a continual stream of bad news, both within and outside Ramparts of Civilization.

New facts came to light in the on-going "parade of phony scandals," while our nation's enemies continue to "violate the territorial integrity" integrity of their neighbors.

To summarize the issues that might lead to "overseas contingency operations," here's a list of Our Dear Leader's Top Five Foreign Policy Disasters.

I know.  "Only five?" you say.

I have a dreadful feeling there'll be more within the next couple of years, and well into the next presidential administration.

Defending Against "Invasion"

No, I'm not talking about manning the trenches in a desperate battle against hostile minions hell-bent on conquest.

I'm talking about Team Obama's wordplay defense in using Russia's "violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity," vs. the cruder term: "Invasion of Ukraine."

This fits right in with the slew of Orwellian-ish terms Team O cooked up, like:

--"Man-Caused Disasters" to describe terrorist attacks.

--"Workplace Violence" to describe the massacre at Ft. Hood by a self-confirmed terrorist (who by the way wants to be the new ISIS poster child).

--"Overseas Contingency Operations" to describe war.

Just to name a few off the top of my head.

I guess Our Dear Leader and his minions think that if they merely change the terminology, the American people will be too stupid to figure out what's really going on.

And speaking of stupid:

If all we're going to do is hashtag our enemies, we may as well do it with a sense of humor, like the Canadians did a few days ago.

BK's Buy-Out Whopper

I usually don't follow business news, because other than Micro & Macro Economics in undergraduate school, I have very little knowledge of big business & high finance.

But when I'm travelling, it's almost guaranteed that at some point during my trip, I'll stop at a  Burger King for an on-the-go meal.

So it came as somewhat of a surprise that the Home of the Whopper is moving to the Great White North.

This of course, isn't the only company to leave the Good Ol' USA.  And up until now, the media hasn't been too flame-broiled about such corporate chicanery.

Most of the news stories rightly condemn the King and his Court for being a royal family of tax evaders.

But some of them miss the point in that the US has one of the highest, if not the highest, corporate tax rate in the world.

One senator is even calling for a BK boycott, along with closing the tax inversion loophole.

Between Big Business & Big Government both trying to have it their way, it's the American citizens & consumers who will be the ones eating crap sandwiches.

Sex Jihad Part II

(Image from The Daily Beast)

It's not all head-hacking on Friday night's in ISISstan.

Women are still being lured into "Sex Jihad" in order to perform "comfort roles" for jihadists.

Nor is this problem confined within the Mordor-like realm of ISIS.

In Rotherham, UK, an estimated 1400 children have been "groomed, drugged and raped"

Apparently, the cops knew about this for quite some time, but kept mum.

TGIF: The Best Day for a Beheading

Like pagans performing human sacrifices, the minions of ISIS conduct most of the maiming, torturing and killing on Fridays--Islam's holiest day of the week

Back in Iraq, ISIS issued an ultimatum to Christians:  Convert, flee or die.  The non-Muslims unfortunate enough be within ISIS's sphere of influence had a week, at the time of this news report, to comply.

Just in time for the next Head-Hacking Holiday.

Which is far more "generous" than ISIS gave these 250 Syrian prisoners.

O Failing to Learn History 101

Yesterday, Our Dear Leader said we don't have a strategy yet for fighting ISIS

Which is probably the most truthful thing he's said during his entire administration.

Of course, a good chunk of O's cluelessness comes from failing History 101.

But in our current PC-contaminated culture, Obama isn't the only one clueless about history.

Andrea Tantaros has irked the Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA)--for stating the obvious.

There's very little, if anything, Miss Tantaros needs to apologize for.

While Obama continues his "lead from behind," and AAJA's feathers continue to ruffle, Russian armored columns are rolling into Ukraine--and will continue to do so, no matter how much Team Obama avoids using the word "invasion."

The Real JV Team on the International Court

The White House has been trying to claim Our Dear Leader's "JV Team" comment about ISIS was taken out of context

What's also coming to light is the ISIS JVs didn't just burst into the limelight, they've been planning for varsity-level games for at least four years.

Apparently, the Jihadi JVs are earning $2 million/day selling oil on the black market.

This guy thought he had a shot with the winning team--until he found himself terminally cut.

Which leaves us with the question:  How many foreigners have signed up with the Jihadi JVs?

More "Happy Coincidences" from the IRS

(Image from Poor Richard's News via Tumblr)

Remember Lois Lerner's "destroyed hard drive?"

I know it's hard, with all the other issues swirling inside and outside the Ramparts of Civilization.

Anyway, the lost data isn't so lost after all:  Just "too hard" to retrieve.

Ah, but the "happy coincidences" continue.  Now we're finding out Lois Lerner's blackberry was deliberately destroyed.

I don't know why the IRS bothered, since anything potentially incriminating would be "too hard" to retrieve.

Strange Allies Against ISIS

Apparently, the Iranian 81st Armored Division is operating inside Iraq.

No, not as invaders in some sort of Iran-Iraq War Redux, but to fight along side the Kurds and Iraqis against ISIS.

Obama and the State Department may not be interested in a war with ISIS, or "The Islamic State," as they've been calling themselves lately.  But the Islamic State is certainly interested in eventually waging a war with us directly.

Should then, the US declare war on ISIS?

Police: Society's Shot in the Arm

As I mentioned previously, I have mixed feelings about the militarization of local police departments.

On the one hand, I don't like reading stories--by conservative commentators--about police officers acting like soldiers of an occupying army towards law abiding citizens.

But on the other hand I do like seeing cops suit-up in "full battle rattle" to take on looters, rioters, would-be terrorists and Occupy Wall Street anarchists.

Sultan Knish does an excellent job of explaining why we have more heavily armed police in his Hands Up, Don't Loot article.

A Tale of Two Beheadings

Just over a dozen years ago, reporter Daniel Pearl was beheaded by Al-Qaeda jihadists in Pakistan

What have we done about, or at least learned about, the nature of our jihadist enemies since then?

Nothing really.

We're still pandering to jihadi cultural sensitivities and glossing over the nature of the jihadi beast.  (Yes, even during Dubya's Administration).

Or to put it another way:  Smiling at the face of the tiger

What's especially frustrating is knowing that we had one of the "tiger cubs" in custody five years ago and released him.

Here's one suggestion on how to handle such malignant animals:

Local Jihadist Nabbed in New Jersey

(Image from KIRO TV)
Amid the mass mayhem in the middle east and Ferguson, MO, a lone jihadist managed to slip under the radar screen.

Meet Ali Muhammed Brown:  The jihadi serial killer no one is talking about.

Actually, they are.  It's just the word "jihadist" has been edited out of the narrative.

Since two of the victims in Seattle were gay, the shooting is being shoe-horned into the "hate crime" category.

O's Vacationus Interruptus

There was a lot of buzz earlier this week about Our Dear Leader's two-day return to The Beltway

While Obama's words over Foley's beheading seemed appropriate, but overall, Our Golfer-in-Chief looked insincere when he immediately left to play another round.  He certainly didn't hit the fairway after the publicity stunt with Bergdahl's parents...

Some of the folks on The Five think Obama is has an addiction problem.

Our Dear Leader appears to be "playing through" his last two years...

Us like-minded folks wonder if anything will spark the president into action...

Raid Against the "JVs"

Apparently, a raid was conducted in an attempt to rescue hostages held by the Islamic State.

John Bolton pointed out this disclosure is a stunning breach of security, which put Chuck Hagel on the defensive.

So now what?

We're reduced to launching a criminal investigation into James Foley's beheading.

I guess this is less pathetic than being angry with them and writing them a letter telling them how angry we are.

At least the satire sites like The Iowahawk and Gormogons understand what we're up against.

The "JV" Threat: Growing, or Diminishing?

Yesterday, at a Pentagon press conference, Chuck Hagel said ISIS was beyond anything we've seen.

Here's at least four reasons why the Islamic State is a greater threat than Al-Qaeda.

But one former spook's opinion is that it's not all good news for ISIS, and they'll eventually be marginalized.

Well the sooner the better.

However, I'm afraid a lot of blood and treasure will be spent conducting any marginalization campaign.

And that's if I had confidence in our nation's leaders to wage a successful campaign against ISIS--which at this point I certainly don't.

In any case, I love Lt. Col. Ralph Peters "Beast Mode" advice.

Beheading Broadcast on Social Media

(Image from the Augusta Chronicle, found on The Federalist Papers)
Once again, our jihadist enemies displayed their savagery a couple of days ago.  Their latest atrocity:  The beheading of American journalist James Foley.

This of course, was celebrated on social media.

Yesterday, Obama made appropriate comments during a press conference.  I'd like to think Our Dear Leader has a cunning plan to deal with ISIS.  But if past behavior is anything to go by, Obama has his own sense of priorities when it comes to Americans and allied people being held in captivity.

If this weren't bad enough, the bigger issue is the thousands of citizens from western nations joining the jihad.  In this case, it appears that Foley was decapitated by an Englishman.

The Usual Suspects at Ferguson

Michelle Malkin identifies the "usual suspects" that can be found within the Ferguson feeding frenzy
.

Prejudice Against Pipers Proceeds

(Image from MidSouth Funeral Piper)
Nearly two weeks ago, I posted about a couple of New Hampshire teens who had their bagpipes confiscated by the CBP.

Well the good news is:  The pipes were returned to them.  This time.

The bad news is:  If they ever want to venture into Canada for another gathering of the clans, they can only do so at 28 inconvenient locations and pay a $238 processing fee--each way.  This bodes ill for any piper entering and exiting the US.

Now compared to the rioting in Ferguson, MO, and the mass invasion along our southern border, this may sound like sour notes.

But in the "Land of the Free" how much longer will we be able to freely engage in our favorite pastimes, hobbies, or passions, before everyone has to pay some "regulatory fee?"

Multiple Layers of the Ferguson Fracas

A few days ago, I mentioned the on-going uproar in Ferguson, MO, via an article by Mark Steyn.  The main topic in that post dealt with the militarization of police forces (and other federal agencies).

Since then, Ferguson is still burning, both literally and emotionally.  I've refrained from commenting on this because it's a multi-layered issue, and like an onion--every layer stinks.

The Ferguson Riots has been/is currently following a similar trajectory as the Trayvon Martin Case:

A black kid is shot and killed, the circumstances of the shooting are dubious at best, then the victim is portrayed as an up-and-coming pillar of the community ruthlessly gunned down by some racist throwback, the saintly image proves to be false, however; this doesn't stop the media, race baiters, elements of the federal government, along with politicians from both parties getting involved.

Did I miss anything?

Probably.  Thanks to to waters being thoroughly muddied by the usual suspects I mentioned above (and probably more).

I'll start off my Ferguson Fracas-101 Crash Course with this Cast of Characters which will come in handy as the rest of the country watches the Theatre of the Absurd play-out.

As with the Steyn article, there's the question of why was there no dash-cam in the squad car, but the convenience store security camera footage was released?

Pat Buchanan asks a broader question:  Is Ferguson our future?

Hopefully not.

But the dirty little secret about the difference between white and black Americans over Ferguson is--there's most likely no difference at all.

Too bad "the usual suspects" don't realize this.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, Big Government Style?

When, indeed.

According to a leaked report, DHS is predicting a rise of anti-government violence over the next year.

I have mixed feelings about what is being termed as the militarization of police.

On the one hand, I want our police to have more protection and firepower than the Adam-12 boys did, so they can take on gangbangers, terrorists and looting rioters, as are currently faced by Ferguson, MO PD.

On the other hand, I wonder why agencies like the Department of Education has it's own SWAT.

To conduct raids on families homeschooling their kids, maybe?

What bothers me more is the attitude of an occupying army, these enforcers often display towards peaceful citizens going about their business.

This attitude bothers a lot of people, and when a lot of people become bothered, it seems as if various police departments and government agencies up-grade their weapon systems accordingly.

Kind of like self-fulfilling prophecy, isn't it?

Mark Steyn is bothered by the fact that, with all this military & electronic hardware being lavished on local PDs, they should at least provide dashcams for every police cruiser.

Ukraine/Russia Border Brawl?

There are conflicting reports coming from the Ukraine-Russian border.

The Ukrainians say their artillery fired upon and "destroyed" part of a Russian armored column that made an incursion into Ukraine territory.

The Russians say:  Nyet.  Didn't happen.

I have a feeling there'll be more verifiable exchanges in the immediate future.

The ROAD Scholar President

Well, it looks like al-Maliki is stepping down, but his imminent departure hasn't stemmed the ISIS tide.

Connecting ISIS to the Tea Party--as the above political cartoon suggests--may be the only way to get Obama's attention.

And even that might not work.

"America is facing greater and greater danger and the president will not admit to this."
(Quoted from the second page of the linked article).

While I was in the military, we had an acronym for such behavior:  ROAD--Retired on Active Duty.

Our "ROAD Scholar" President can give stirring lectures to fawning crowds--but rarely does anything useful, or helpful.

ISIS Recruiters Are Standing By...

(Image by Jim Morin of The Miami Herald)

ISIS members feel no need to lurk in the shadows within the Ramparts of Civilization.

Apparently, one can find recruiters operating openly in downtown London.

Can't make it to London?

Just log on to your favorite social media site and go from there.

Tech-savvy liberals have thought we could sooth the savage jihadi beasts with our gizmos and gadgets.

Instead, the opposite is true.  That our jihadist enemies are using western technology to further their aims of conquest.

The "JV" Caliphate and Their Leader

Back in January, Our Dear Leader dismissed ISIS as a junior varsity team?

Well, the jayvees have been cutting a bloody swath across Syria and Iraq, and are now their conquered territory "The Caliphate."

They're also led by a head coach willing to play by less-than 19th Century rules.

Meanwhile, US Marines and Special Forces have landed on Mount Sinjar, to plan for a Dunkirk-style evacuation of the tens of thousand of Yazidis trapped on the mountain.

But this assessment could take several days.

That should be enough time for Obama to put in a few days of golfing at least.

Incompetent or Amateurish Foreign Policy?

A few days ago, Obama announced that his Prime Directive in Iraq is to contain, not destroy extremists.

This sparked an e-mail debate among my friends as to whether Our Dear Leader and his minions are incompetent, or amateurs.

Or both?

Or is this all a deliberate attempt to weaken America?

Any of these could be possibilities, especially since there's two other fault lines that are slipping:  Israel/Gaza Strip, and Ukraine/Russia.  (Not to mention our own border crisis).

These foreign policy disasters and Obama's response to all this can be summed-up nicely as:  One, Two, Three and Fore!

Missing Girl's Suspected Killer Found

Two days ago, a 17-year-old was arrested and is considered the prime suspect for the rape and murder of Jenise Wright.

Crimes like this make me an advocate to reinstate public execution.

Mr. O's Mission Accomplished Moment

Iraq is descending into anarchy and barbarism.

Any doubts about the current situation should be removed by this chip off the old block.

You don't even have to read the article, or any of the other postings flooding social media outlets.  The picture-worth-a-thousand-words says it all.

I could go on and on about this, but for now, I think I'll let Mark save me from typing another 1K's worth of words on Junior Headhacker, and the fallacy of the multi-cultural mentality.

Meanwhile, Our Dear Leader has been doing what he does best...

...or so he thinks.

Obama might not be interested in war, but war is interested in Obama--and the rest of us infidels.

Presidential Vacation

I swear I've never heard of a president going on as many vacations, attending so many fundraisers and playing so many rounds of golf as Obama has.

I could be wrong with the actual numbers.  But with the world burning outside the Crumbling Ramparts of Civilization, it gives the impression that Our Dear Leader is disconnected from the affairs of mortal men.

So for the next couple of weeks, any critical information updates to the on-going crises, will be re-directed/forwarded to Obama's vacation spot in Martha's Vineyard.
