More "Down-to-Earth" Protests

The Middle East isn't the only portion of the world engulfed by violence. 

 

Last week, mobs took to the street in Spain and Greece, not to protest attacks on whatever religion they practice (if any), but against the austerity measures their respective governments are attempting to put into place. 

 

And they're bracing for more protests to come.

 

Meanwhile, the Useless Nobodies (aka the UN), is trying to shakedown advanced nations with a global tax. 

Benghazigate?

For the past several days, conservative websites and FOX News have been stoking the fires of what is now being called "Benghazigate."  Mike Huckabee said it's not about the politics, or election, but about the integrity of the White House.  In another FOX program, he pointed out that no one died as a result of the Watergate Scandal. Because of this, Roger Simon contends this is worse than Watergate. 

 

The rest of the lame-stream media is too busy covering His Majesty's posterior to report on the on-going protests at American embassies throughout the world. 

 

(Similarly, the attack on Camp Bastion, Afghanistan was deemed un-newsworthy by the Ministry of Truth).

 

Despite evidence available within 24 hours of the attack on the US consulate at Benghazi, Team Obama continued to parrot the message that the attack was a spontaneous result of the ridiculous 13-minute YouTube trailer Innocence of Muslims.  NBC continues to insist the violence was sparked by this film, regardless of what the Libyan President says.

 

The reality is:  The attack was pre-planned and, in-part, an Al-Qaeda revenge for the assassination of one of their leaders. 

 

Yesterday, a Republican lawmaker called on Susan Rice, Ambassador to the UN to resign. Meanwhile, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) decided to fall on his sword.

 

 

But as Kate Hicks mentioned in her article, the story still doesn't jive. 

 

Romney should go on the offensive.  Otherwise, our future will be a shambles.

While the world burns, the producer of Innocence of Muslims has been jailed, without bail, for parole violation. 

 

At least that's what we're being told...

Too Cool to Meet With the Minor Nobility

 

While at the UN, Obama didn't meet with any of his international counterparts.  Supposedly, if he met 1 leader, he'd be obligated to meet 10.

 

Like out-of-touch aristocrats, or Hollyweird entertainers, Obama lives in a fantasy land.

 

A fantasy land of epic failure.

Double Standards Towards Religion

 

Over the past few years, conservative commentators often referred to the Piss Christ "artwork," in comparing Christian reaction to such an offense to their religion vs Muslim reaction to--well--just about anything their volatile, jihadi minds can think of. 

 

As a Catholic, I too, am offended by the image on the left and not just for faith-based reasons.  The artist, Andres Serrano, who concocted this, received awards and $15K of taxpayer money.

 

On the other hand: 

 

Even before the smoke at the US consulate in Benghazi cleared, Barack & Hillary have been bending over backwards, denouncing Innocence of Muslims and spent tax dollars for appeasement commercials in Pakistan. 

 

Our leaders should be defending our 1st Amendment Rights, instead of trying to placate the rampaging hordes of an intolerant religion.

 

Despite Obama's on-going Apology Tour, a flunky of the Pakistani government has posted a bounty on the film maker.

 

No bounty has been posted on Mr. Serrano, unless of course, he pisses on a Koran.

In the Shadow of Burning Embassies...

...another problem is smoldering.  This one in the Pacific Rim, as tensions between China and Japan are escalating over disputed islands in the East China Sea. 

 

It's uncertain at this time whether this "maritime shadow boxing" could erupt into war, but some economies, like South Korea's are trembling over the rising animosity.  (Not that China and Japan have ever been friends). 

 

This has also caused a slight shift to the right in Japan's attitude towards foreign policy and its self-defense forces.

Flag Burning and the False Narrative

While the Religion of Perpetual Outrage continues its outrage, the Obama Administration spent $70K on commercials in Pakistan, denouncing the YouTube video Innocence of Muslims.

Mark Steyn calls out the false narrative--and hypocricy--that's still being trumpeted by the "Barack & Hillary At the Movies" show. 

At least there's been a small measure of payback.  One jihadi wannabee croaked from inhaling fumes from burning an American flag.  Meanwhile, Libyans stormed the Ansar-al-Sharia compound and attacked those they believe were responsible for the attack on the US embassy in Benghazi.

Even when Bush the Younger, whom I liked, was president; I didn't believe we were at war with radicals who "hijacked a peaceful religion."  I firmly believe we're in a multi-generational religious conflict and the tenants of Islam itself is the root of it.  "Fjordman" writes Why Islam Does Not Belong in the Western World.

United States of Obamerica?

The Obama campaign store is now selling prints of the "Obamerican flag." This is a horrendous idea, which smacks of narcissism. 

But then again, the cult of personality, similar to that found in authoritarian regimes, is alive and well among the Hollyweird crowd.  They're now pledging allegiance--to Obama--in response to his "For All". 

The 47 Percenters

 

The lame-stream media has been issuing the hue & cry over Romney's "47%" comment.  It's probably the same group of folks Esquire and Yahoo sampled for this poll.

I guess "speaking truth to power" only applies to liberals griping about conservative/Republican led administrations.

 

Rogues Gallery of: Useful Fools, Terrorists and "Allies"

 

 

I may be off line for the next couple of days, but I have no doubt the Religion of Perpetual Outrage will still be outraged over the YouTube video:  The Innocence of Muslims.

 

At least half of America knows this video is just a pretext for the latest assault on our freedom of speech.  Unfortunately, our president and other government officials don't quite see it that way.

 

 

Nor does the liberal media.  They're going along with this pretext and are too busy trying to root out who produced the film.

 

Or they're too busy coordinating their attacks on Mitt Romney...

 

 

Meanwhile at the time of this writing, our "allies" in Sudan rejected our request to send US Marines to secure our embassy.

 

And, not surprising, Al-Qaida called for more attacks on US embassies.

 

Good job Mr. President!

Over the weekend, a few commentators rolled-in on our government's wimpy response to the attacks on our embassies and diplomatic personnel.

 

Roger Kimball discusses the multi-layered naivete of our leaders and asks:  Is this a first?

 

Caroline Glick writes a convincing article about our leaders, previous and present:  Reign of Imagination.

 

While Ann Althouse blogs about her concern over the government's delusion that it can scapegoat a private citizen for the Middle East's pathologies.

 

One of my friends voice our collective opinion, rather well:

 

I am so utterly appalled and disgusted with the CJCS calling that nutter Terry, the Quran-burning goofball. What in the hell place does Dempsey have calling private citizens to pressure them? Did he threaten to send the 82nd Airborne to arrest him? Then again, if the White House can call Google-Youtube and "ask" them to remove videos that do not violate their own policy, I suppose suppression of the First Amendment has become accepted policy. All this in the name of not giving our enemies a "legitimate" reason to attack and kill us.

This crap has got to stop.

 

Yes, it does.  Otherwise, our culture and way of life will be lost.

Hounding the Film Maker

 

 

Instead of tracking down the killers of Ambassador Stevens, the US Government was searching for Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man supposedly behind the anti-Islamic film, jihadi-wannabees in over 20 countries are all riled up about.

And what, pray tell, law did the individual(s) in question break?  Are they going to arrest Bill Maher, too? 

 

While Jan Morgan asked:  when will the world hold these people accountable? 

 

Jan also reported that the US Embassies in Cairo and Benghazi were warned about the impending attacks.  Such lack of concern for the safety of American lives and property, was a tragic end-game of Obama's Great Islamist Delusion, that he could apologize chat with our enemies and dissuade them from attacking us.

Nakoula was found in LA, brought in for questioning and then released.  After he was released, he decided not to go back to his home.  I can't blame him, it's probably as safe as a "safehouse" in Benghazi.

 

Speaking of which, Mark Steyn rightly declared the attack on our consulate in Benghazi was an act of war, not a movie protest. Not to mention, asking some pointed questions.

 

ROPMA Rampage Spreads

ROPMA Rampage spread to several middle eastern countries yesterday.  But of course, our lamestream media has been too busy attacking Mitt Romney.

 

 

 

Despite what the current occupant of the oval office and his cronies might  think, we have nothing to apologize for.   Diplomad presents a good synopsis and editorial of the events these past few days.  (See 11-14 Sept 2012  posts).

ROPMA Rampage

ROPMA:  Religion of Peace, My *ss.

 

For the past three days now, US embassies/consulates have been attacked in Libya, Egypt and now Yemen.  There's much hue & cry--from liberals, as well as muslims--over a hokey anti-Islamic film. 

 

But this is a smoke screen.  The uproar started on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks.  Speculation is now, this all may have been (or still is) coordinated.  For now, we have the basic timeline  of the attack in Benghazi along with photos of the current Middle East Mayhem.

 

Our government's response has been riddled with confusion, especially over the unapproved, apologetic tone of a State Department tweet. Even our military leaders have compounded the issue by getting involved in the affairs of American citizens.  (Mark Steyn adds a a fifth "No!").  Mark also wonders who's side the Libyan security detail was on.

 

As of now a couple of warships and a handful of US Marines have been dispatched to the "Shores of Tripoli."

 

Comments from my friends over the past couple of days include:

 

If there was ever an administration without a clue, I can’t think of one. This is beyond disgusting.

We going to have another apology tour now?

 

So, why isn’t the MEU with the 6^th Fleet (if they have one) en route, and the SETAF (is this an airborne brigade now?) or the ready brigade out of Joint Base Bragg-Pope already on the ground in Tripoli?

 

I don’t believe a platoon is anywhere near enough boots on the ground when you consider the size of the crowds. My opinion is we’re just giving them 50 more hostages.

 

I’m still trying to figure out, given Libya’s instability, who thought it was smart to open a consulate there with no actual security.

 

While our government maintains its restrain, liberal academics and reporters attack their most hated enemies:  Mitt Romney and the film-maker.

 

 

9/11 on the Eleventh Anniversary

 

Comrade Karla found this article from James Lilek's Bleats Archive.  While this post is over eight years old, his observations are still valid.

 

Since that horrific day, we've had a couple of "Arab Springs" springing-up in a few places.  However, as some of us correctly predicted about Egypt, it's a case of:  Meet the new boss--same as the old boss.

 

With "subdued memorials" taking place all over the nation, the world teeters on the brink of becoming far more dangerous than it looked eleven years ago.

National Empty Chair Day

 

I missed Clint Eastwood's Empty Chair Speech at last week's RNC.  Most liberals now label Clint as a whacked-out old coot.  But Mark Steyn brought up some good point in his Play Clinty for Me. 

 

Clint's shtick inspired National Empty Chair Day, along with a plethora of vacant chair images.

 

 

We'll see this November, whether our votes will "...make my day."

Where Deterrence Won't Work

Most, if not all, the folks on the left think we can merely contain Iran's nuclear-fueled, geo-politcal ambition, just like the USSR was contained during the Cold War. 

 

Commentator Extrodinaire, Charles Krauthammer, lambastes the left's deterrence fantasy in this WaPo editorial.

The Discerning Ear of Liberal Media

 

I only caught snippets of last week's Republican National Convention (RNC).  Apparently, it was chock-full of racial overtones.  At least according to some (all?) of the liberal media.  Mark Steyn discusses this dog whistle phenomena. 

 

Mark isn't the only one either.  I hijacked the lead image fromThe Owl Blog. 

 

An while we're on the topic of supposed hidden meanings, the US State Department's new mission is the elimination dog whistling within it's ranks.  FOX News has the story on common phrases that are now branded as insensitive.

 

One of the problems I have writing blogs, is there is no one to hold down the fort when I'm away from my computer.
