The Tinkereaper of the VA Hospitals

Veteran's Affairs (VA) Secretary, Robert McDonald, found himself in the epicenter of a political/public relations firestorm.

A few days ago, McDonald compared the notorious wait times at the VA hospitals to waiting in line at Disney.

And like any department head, and one who considers himself part of the political ruling class, Old McDonald claimed the bumpkins misunderstood him, and at the time I'm writing this, still hasn't formally apologized.

Mickey D might continue to ASSume he said nothing wrong, but there's a growing number of senators--on both sides of the aisle--that are calling for his resignation.

While I'd certainly like to see McDonald deposed, I'm afraid all we'll end up doing is seeing another dope replacing him.

Clinton & Trump Clinch the WA State Primaries

The two unpopular front-runners won yesterday's primary here in the Evergreen State.

Trump won by a landslide, despite the Other Washington's GOP establishment casting their lots for Cruz.

I guess "suspending" one's political campaign doesn't mean dropping out altogether.   I was surprised to still see Carson, Cruz and Kasich still on my ballot.

At least Bolshevik Bernie managed to grab a tad over 46% of the votes against the Corrupt Queen.

At least our primary ended peacefully, compared to other politically-charged events we've had here, or like the violence that erupted after a Trump rally in New Mexico.

The Donkey Drove Donnybrook

While many conservatives have their misgivings about the Boorish Billionaire, the Democratic Deathmatch between the Corrupt Queen and Bolshevik Bernie drags on.

Last weekend, Nevada's Democratic Convention "...was sort of a trainwreck..."

Meanwhile, Republicans attempted a Hail Mary--Third Party bid.

However, #NeverTrump campaign took a hit yesterday when Romney backed out.

This doesn't mean #NeverTrump voters will go quietly into the night.  But as of now, they're downright stealthy compared to those "feeling the Bern."

Barack's Bathroom Bylaw

Last week, Our Dear Leader decreed all public schools must allow transgender bathroom use--or else--lose federal funding.

Conservatives are outraged over this social engineering conversion.

When our Dear Leader got elected and said he'd "transform America" I didn't he'd go all the way to the bathrooms.  Not even Communist/Nazi/Third World dictators have gone this far.

Texas' lieutenant governor warned this is the beginning of the end of the public school system.  Or at least we'll see an even bigger increase in homeschooling than in years past.

I can't imagine being a parent with small children and sending them off to public schools in this Orwellian Brave New World we're now living in.

Okay, maybe this won't be an everyday occurrence in women's rooms across America...

...but this certainly will be:

Either way, it's time to defy Obama's decree no matter what the cost.

The Facebook Fracas

Earlier this week some former Facebook workers revealed they routinely suppressed conservative news.

Basically, this "new media" has been acting like the "old media" by attempting to influence opinions, or at least what topics users can easily see.

Based on my own observations, and those of others, Facebook and other social media sites are not unbiased and lean leftward.

Facebook Prez, said he'll launch an investigation into the anti-conservative bias.

But if it's anything like the investigation against Hillary Clinton's Secret Server Scam, I won't be holding my breath.

Trump's Visit to "The Other Washington"

I was on duty a few days ago and received a call from the Whatcom  County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) Director.  He informed me they planned to activate their Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in preparations for Trump's visit.

This was news to me.  I didn't know Trump was visiting us here in "The Other Washington."

During his rallies in Spokane and Lynden, the Boorish Billionaire bragged he'll carry the Evergreen State in November.

I certainly hope he does.  But whether or not he succeeds in doing so, it will probably be by the slimmest of margins.  According to all the Big Picture Electoral Maps, the Evergreen State (which isn't so green during Wildfire Seasons, but I digress...) is indeed considered a Blue State.

How-ev-er:  If you conduct a political "spectrum analysis" you'll find the rural areas to be a Field of Red, bordered by Blue Veins of most, but not all, the urban areas.  Cities that host military installations like Tacoma (Pierce County), and Bremerton (Kitsap County) tend to be inhabited by conservatives.

And even with this political mosaic in mind, Seattle (King County) has been the epicenter for state and national elections.  At least since I've lived here.

A few years ago, a former coworker made this comment on Washington's gubernatorial elections:

If you want to be Governor of Washington State, climb to the top of the Space Needle, look around,  and you'll see all the votes you'll need to win.

Maybe Trump should have visited the Space Needle during this trip.

How Trump Trumped the GOP

The Pro-Trump--Anti-Trump Feeding Frenzy erupted immediately after Kasich and Cruz quit the contest.

And will probably continue in some degree, or another, until the closing of the GOP Convention.

As accusations of ideological impurity continue to fly, Cal Thomas ponders:  Whom to blame for the rise of Trump?

The short answer is:  The GOP elites.

Meanwhile, rank-and-file liberals aren't pleased by the Democratic Party's preferred pick for president.

A recent poll shows that stopping Hillary is the #1 reason voters will vote for Trump.

Well, duh.

At least Trump can sell a more entertaining story than Hillary.

Or put another way, maybe this is a case of dealing with the Devil We Don't Know vs. the Devil We Know.

Fed Up with Illegals and the Feds

(Image by by Gary McCoy, posted in The Conservative Papers/Illegal Immigration Cartoons)

Todd Starnes sums up why Americans are fed up with illegals...

...along with political correctness (PC) that's preventing us from even talking about this issue...

...while our government--under several presidential administrations--has done nothing.

Default Presidential Endorsement

Well, the Boorish Billionaire won yesterday's Indiana Primary, which caused Ted Cruz to suspend his campaign.

And now Kasich is calling it quits.

Meanwhile, even though Bolshevik Bernie was the Donkey Drove winner in The Hoosier State. However, he's still fighting an uphill battle, thanks to all the superdelegates pledging their fealty to their Corrupt Queen.

We can always hope that the FBI will finally arrest Hillary, preferably at the climax of the Democratic National Convention.

Yeah, I know something like this only happens in the movies.  But we can still dream can't we?

Anyway, I guess this means:

Station WTFO is officially endorsing Donald Trump for president.

"...and there was much rejoicing..."

I've stated in a previous post, or three, that I was not going to vote for Hillary/Bernie, nor am I going to sit-out the General Election this November.

The Diplomad's Sunday post summed up my own reasons for voting for Trump, because I'm too lazy to more eloquently than I can.

Besides, I loved his Titanic analogies...

Of course, not everyone on the Conservative-ish side of the aisle is happy with the Trump turnout.  (The Diplomad's Sunday post racked-up 86 comments).

I don't mean to exaggerate, but this is the strangest, (among many other adjectives), presidential election I've seen in my lifetime.   The front runners of both parties also have the highest unfavorabilty ratings of any of the remaining--but mostly fallen--candidates.

So about the closest thing to a "prediction" I'll make about November is, we may see one of two extremes:

1. One of the highest voter turn-outs, because the folks on one side of the aisle will be bound & determined to keep the other candidate from winning.  Or--

2. One of the lowest voter turn-outs, because folks on both sides of the political aisle are unhappy with who the Primary System elevated to #1.

Beyond this, it's up to Divine Providence to see us through November--and beyond.

The Fourth Annual May Day Clash in Seattle

(Image from:  Q13's May Day 2016 Live Updates)

Well, I guess it was too much to ask for that the first day of May would end peacefully.

My wife and I had a pleasant and productive day, but for some of our Seattlite friends and neighbors yesterday was anything but pleasant:  The "anti-capitalist" march turned violent resulting in 5 police officers being injured and 9 rioters arrested.

It's getting to the point where I don't remember a peaceful May Day here in the Pacific Northwest, especially when anarchists show up and consider themselves "Ungovernable."

But according to Evan Bush, anarchist-agitated violence has only occurred during the past four years, giving us a 5-year lull from the 1999 WTO Riots.

I'd like a lifetime lull from now on.

Unfortunately, we can expect more calls-to-arms, like this one, as part of an annual Pacific Northwest tradition:

Anti-Trump Temper Tantrums

Well it looks like leftists got an early start on their May Day mayhem.

On Friday, protestors tore down barricades and attempted to disrupt the California GOP Convention, where Trump was giving a speech.

I agree with Guy Benson's assessment.  That is, "protestors" become "rioters" when people are injured and property is damaged.

The Diplomad's son was at a rally the day prior, and described what he saw in this Mexico Attacks post.

Next, after we weather any May Day Madness Outbreaks, there's the showdown in Indiana between The Boorish Billionaire and the Cruz-Fiorina-Kasich Love Triangle.
