Unchecking White Guilt
Earlier this month I came across Julie Borowski's "Check Your Privilege" video on YouTube. This was the first time I've heard such an expression. After some internet trolling, I found it's been part of the leftist verbal arsenal for several years.
Don't know where I've been all this time.
Living out my "privileged" life, I guess.
And while I've been living in my so-called privileged cocoon, the white privilege awareness movement has gained momentum.
Be sure to check out the link for the Madison, WI conference. It's both creepy and pathetic at the same time.
Creepy because children as young as four are being indoctrinated by this tripe. It's pathetic because adult whites are being led to believe they should feel guilty for merely being white, turning people who've had relatively normal upbringings into leftist pod people (see lead image).
Meanwhile, outside the Ramparts of Civilization, real pre-20th Century oppression is spreading like wildfire.

California Killing Spree by Lonesome Loser
(Image from Elliot Rodger's "Retribution" YouTube video via USA Today) |
Apparently, the killer's parents tried to intercept him after they learned about his manifesto and "Retribution" video on YouTube.
While on the one hand I try to disseminate news in a timely manner, I'm glad I was away from the internet as this story unfolded. During the initial few days I missed the usual hue & cry about gun control, along with the initial assumptions that the perpetrator must be some card carrying member of the "whites only" NRA and/or Tea Party.
It took a couple of days for the dust to settle for three myths about the "Virgin Killer" killing spree to be proven false.
I actually watched the creep's creepy video.
Sheez! Talk about being a weapons-grade loser. It doesn't take a degree in psychiatry to see this kid was mentally disturbed.
There are now several Californian families in mourning, to which I extend my condolences and prayers. But half-a-world away, there are Belgian families who are also grieving. The motivations for mass murder, though are completely different.
Both sides of the Atlantic are performing head-in-the-sand reactions to the true causes to the respective killings.

Lame Lies from Lame Duck
(Image from A.F. Branco of Legal Insurrection) |
There are several plausible reasons for the prescience among the proletariat. It's either:
a. We heard it all before
b. Team Obama is running out of creative energy
c. Team Obama is now openly contemptuous of the voting public
d. All the Above
Feel free to come up with your own list.
In the meantime, here's the Top 6 Lamest Excuses from the Obama (Mis)Administration, in case you need a template.
And speaking of templates, Mary Katherine Hamm came up with her How to get the WH Press Corps to Stop Asking Questions in Six Easy Steps.
Maybe the Obama Mouthpieces should just call out numbers when responding to questions at press conferences.

The Boko Biker Gang of Nigeria
(Image from Branco of legalinsurrection.com) |
One of my writer friends is paired-up with an ex-intelligence operative named "Holmes."
A few days ago he posted his insights on the Nigerian jihadi biker gang.
I didn't know Boko Haram were bikers.
But at least I knew they were terrorists before the schoolgirls' kidnapping made them media sensations, unlike a former Secretary of State...

Amnesty for Meriam?
(Image from SteynOnline) |
Well it looks like the lamestream media has lost interest in this issue. The most recent headlines and images I found on Google were dated about the same time I uploaded my previous post on this story.
The only person who's continued to shout in the wilderness is Mark Steyn. Not only that he brings up the plot twist to this twisted story: Meriam's husband is American. And so is their two year-old son--also in jail with his mom--along with Meriam's unborn child.
As with the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, not much--if anything--is being done to "#BringBackOurGirl."

VA Hospital Death Panels
Take the new "phony scandal:" Veterans with war injuries forced to wait months for treatment.
At least 40 veterans have died during these "not death panel" waits.
Gitmo detainees got better treatment then our veterans.
Nearly a dozen whistleblowers have emerged.
When did Our Dear Leader learn of all this?
I'll give you one guess...
Of course the VA Scandal is just the tip of the iceberg. "VDH" sums up Team Obama very nicely: Politics trumps ethics.

Pregnant Woman Sentenced to Death in Sudan
(Image from www.express.co.uk) |
Speaking of lively debates, The Five on FOX News rolled-in on this subject.
The article my friend cited actually came from CNN, which surprised me that any non-FOX News agency would bother reporting about the ongoing persecution of Christians beyond the "Ramparts of Civilization"

Of course, it's going to take decisive diplomatic action (military action?) to get the Sudanese government to change their tune, especially since they've been waging a genocidal campaign in Darfur since 2003.

Bring Back Our "Backbone"
Well it looks like a couple of political cartoonists have followed Mark Steyn's "#BringBackOurBalls" lead.
In his Attitude is All article, Mark continues his scathing criticism against the hashtag impotence on a TV and radio show.
Meanwhile another favorite commentator of mine Victor Davis Hanson ("VDH") reminds us that those "oh-so-19th-Century" types are, well, oh so 19th Century.
The key point in VDH's article "morally superior" leftists should keep in mind is this:
The truth is that much of the world never left the 19th century and is not too worried that it hasn't.

IRS Marching Orders: DC--Not Cincinnati
I find the concluding sentence of Katie Pavlich's article to be especially chilling, and bears repeating:
In her emails about DOJ, Lerner noted that putting one person from a conservative organization in jail would create and example and "shut the whole thing down."
It's a damn shame that our leftist ruling class isn't so zealous about things like rescuing diplomatic personnel under fire, or Nigerian school girls from the clutches of jihadists.

Russian History May Help Us
Well sanctions and hashtags have failed to cow Putin. But maybe, just maybe, all we have to do is let 1K years of Russian History take care of Putin for us.
Too bad though we look feeble in the meantime...

Nigerian Negotiations
Not exactly a bargain by any stretch of the imagination.
But the Nigerian government isn't the only one whose bargained with barbarians.
The Diplomad rolls-in with some other weird things regarding Boko Haram.

Virtual Bumper Stickers
With social media hashtags.
Or what I call virtual bumper stickers. Something that costs next-to-nothing to do--and does nothing to resolve anything.
First it was #WeStandWithUkraine, now it's #BringBackOurGirls.
Oh sure, it lets everyone inside the ramparts know that you're concerned with #WhateverItIsYourConcernedAbout. But it's not going to make Boko Haram, Russia's Bare-Chested Czar, or any of usual suspects outside the ramparts (Iran, North Korea, China, just to name a few), to refrain from #WhateverThey'reDoingThatUpsetsUs.
Mark Steyn goes for the groin, and suggests the hashtag: BringBackOurBalls.
I pray the girls are rescued.
But if & when they are, it will be in the good-old non-Twenty First Century way--with guns blazin'.

"Check Your Privilege" Is An Idiotic Phrase
I've never heard of this phrase before, until I watched this video. I guess I've been "privileged" not to come across it, especially after reading some of the comments by people who've been subjected to it.

Barbarians Beyond the Ramparts
Now, some of the world powers will aid in the search for the still-missing girls.
Nor is Boko Haram, the terrorist organization responsible for the mass abduction limiting itself to the kidnapping business. The group recently attacked another village, reportedly slaughtered 200-400 Nigerians.
The media breathlessly act like this is a new phenomena. Sadly, it isn't. Throughout history, marauders often swept into vulnerable communities carrying off women and wealth, and killing just about everyone else.
I'm afraid we'll be seeing more of this as most of the world powers who are trying to aid Nigeria continue their military draw downs.

Politi-Comix
(Image from directorblue.BlogSpot.com) |
I love comics and graphic novels. Normally, I write about these topics on my Stern Rake Studio blog.
However, during yesterday's trolling-of-the-internet, I stumbled across this comic strip collection on Doug Ross's blog "Director Blue."
Talk about a nice way of mixing business with pleasure!

Sweeping Up the Scandal
In the flurry of on-line and on-air activity, I forgot to add two of my favorite commentators to yesterday's Benghazi post.
First, The Diplomad, a retired foreign affairs officer, reminded us the Benghazi Scandal is not exactly rocket science.
This week's "breaking news" wasn't all that breaking to those of us who saw through Team Obama's lies right from the "Dude, that was two years ago" get-go.
And second, Mark Steyn reminded us how Obama & Hillary dishonored the dead of Benghazi.
Finally, getting back to The Diplomad, I usually troll through the comments to read anything from some of the folks I know.
But instead of reading something from "..we happy few..." I came across this Benghazi Comix and the subsequent Complete Benghazi Timeline Spreadsheet.
Iraq: The Most Catastrophic War in the 20th Century?
(Image: The 2,000 Yard Stare by Thomas Lea) |
According to Eleanor Holmes Norton: Iraq was the most catastrophic war of the 20th Century.
I guess having a basic knowledge of history, not to mention knowing what century we currently live in, isn't a requirement to becoming a member of Congress.

"Mostly" Peaceful May Day Protests
(Image from www.capitalhill.com ) |
(Image from the movie: Soylent Green) |
The "usual suspects" gathered in downtown Seattle to demonstrate for immigration and minimum wage reform.
You can check out The Seattle Times' running blog on yesterday's "festivities."
As far as minimum wage reform goes, the so-called Ninety-Nine Percenters have friends in high places, specifically Hizzoner Ed Murray.
Media Mad Hatter Tea Party
Why just FOX News?
Because the other networks continue to ignore the scandal.
But Team Obama made one substitution: Tommy ("Dude") Vietor for Susan Rice...
...who certainly made an "impression" on Brett Baier's Special Report. The wrong kind. The kind of impression that makes us like-minded folks wonder about their appalling lack of qualifications.
But there appears to be a crack in the White House/State Department rampart...
The plan is to form (another) congressional select committee and begin hearings within a few weeks.
We also know, thanks to "Tommydude" Vietor's comments, that Obama wasn't in the Situation Room when our consulate in Benghazi was under attack.
Which now begs the question: Where was Our Dear Leader when Americans were fighting for their lives?
I'm sure the answer to this question will remain as unclear as just about everything else about this "phony scandal." Especially if the non-FOX based media continues to perform more as the Ministry of Truth, rather than an actual independent press.

Billionaire Banned Big Time
However, as I spent the past several days working in and around the yard, I glanced at the headlines about some racist comments made by some guy named Sterling, who happens to own the LA Clippers.
Then, yesterday I stumbled across Ann Coulter's comments about a man of sterling character.
Mark Steyn exacts his pound of Sterling not only against the billionaire buffoon, but the circles he, and his trophy gals, have traveled in.
But in addition to the usual Steynian tongue-in-cheek lashing, Mark warns that not only does loose lips ship Clips, but can result in a complete loss of privacy, private property--and even freedom of speech.
While Sterling is being hounded to sell the Clippers; in the UK, one can get busted for quoting Churchill.
Maybe it's time to buy a copy of The River War before it's banned.

Shrugging-Off World Responsibilities
While my previous post was about Benghazigate, it's actually part of the greater problem of Team Obama's ineptitude at foreign policy.
Ben Rhodes, the Deputy National Security Advisor, criticized the way Americans view foreign policy "...through the prism of the most difficult crisis of the day..."
But Max Boot boots it out of the park with his scathing commentary.
And speaking of scathing commentaries, The Diplomad included Obama's foreign policy faux-pas with bits and pieces of weird stuff.
The "Not About Benghazi" Benghazi E-mails
Thanks to Judicial Watch, a batch of new e-mails have surfaced showing Team Obama trying to put the spin on the Benghazi attack (11 Sep 2012).
FOX News has been on the forefront of Benghazigate right from the get-go. But yesterday, even John Karl from ABC News wasn't buying the White House whitewash.
Despite the damning evidence, Our Dear Leader's mouthpiece, Jay Carney fended off accusations with counter-accusations of Republican conspiracy theories and that these e-mails weren't about Benghazi--just about the unrest in the middle east in general.
It sounds like Carney dusted off Hillary Clinton's "vast right-wing conspiracy" playbook.
So in honor of "Throwback Thursday," let's take a trip down "Right Wing Conspiracy Theory Lane" shall we?
Let's hope the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy II continues, at least through 2016...
