Sanctuary City Standoff

Two days ago, AG Jeff Sessions put sanctuary cities on notice--comply with Federal laws on illegal immigration or face being cut off from Department of Justice funding assistance.

In response, the People's Democratic Republic of Seattle, initiated a lawsuit against the White House.

Other sanctuary city mayors followed-up with their own see-you-in-court threats.

(Image by Dana Summers for The Patriot Post, 26 January 2017)

A coworker and I were talking the other day about how much we use to love Seattle.  We considered it our favorite American metropolitan area.

Not anymore.

Now I only venture up to the People's Democratic Republic of Seattle for specific events at a single locations--not to do any sort of aimless walkabouts.

Proclaiming a metropolitan area a "welcoming city," (Newspeak for sanctuary city), is just one symptom plaguing our urban centers.

Derek Hunter wrote about bearing witness as our cities die.  He hopes we may be able to turn things around, at least in some cities.

I might be too pessimistic, but I'm not so sure.  It would take voting out all the leftists in city offices to begin such a venture, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Republicans Rolled-Back From Obamacare

This past Friday, the GOP scrapped their attempt to fix Obamacare.

Over the weekend, the Grand Nagus unleashed a Tweet-strom promising to "...totally fix healthcare."

Accusations flew all around.

Trump blamed the Democrats and predicts Obamacare will explode.

On FOX News, Stuart Varney called the GOP a disgrace (not to worry, he's disgusted with the Democrats), while Derek Hunter called them cowards of their own convictions.

(Note:  Varney's gone head-to-head against other conservatives over repealing Obamacare--even Mark Steyn).

But getting back to disgusting Democrats:  Chuck Schumer said he'd work with Republicans--once they take repeal off the table.

Hal Scherz offered this post game analysis of the GOP Healthcare Fumble, and Kurt Schlichter reminded us this was just one lost battle in a protracted war-- with lots of American Civil War analogies (while heaping scorn upon Ryan).

The Diplomad put it another way:  Making Democrats happy is bad for America.

Yeah.

Obamacare was bad for America to begin with.  It should never have been passed to begin with.  However, this is now wishful thinking.

Obamacare is like a giant Facehugger on the America.  The problem is:  How to truly kill it without killing the patient.

Unlike the professional pundits, I'm not going to pretend I have the answer to fixing/replacing/abolishing Obamacare.  I've been lucky so far, and have "kept my doctor" throughout the eight year Era of Hope and Change.

I certainly want to see Obamacare abolished, but not with the same level as upheaval as its implementation caused.  I'll be happy with not having to justify my healthcare coverage to the IRS, and threatened with ever-growing fines.  Just a small victory in this protracted Healthcare War.

Comeback Clinton?

On Saint Patrick's Day, Corrupt Queen Clinton said she's  ready to come out of the woods.

Greg Gutfeld nailed it with this:  Don't call it a comeback.

Hillary Clinton is the American political equivalent to the Creature That Won't Die.

Wiretapping vs Russian Collusion Re-Ignited

While the late and un-lamented London attacker was running over and knifing innocent people, the Towergate plot thickened.

According to Congressman Nunes of the House Intelligence Committee, some sort of surveillance was conducted against Team Trump after all.

The Five got into a free for all heated debate over this latest development, where even panelists who normally agree with each other were arguing.

Tucker Carlson wondered was this a vindication of the Grand Nagus? (Along with getting into a heated debate with Jessica Tarlov).

Towergate & Russian Hacking aren't going to be resolved overnight.

I'm willing to bet the scandalous waters will still be muddied when I'm back on-line next week (maybe sooner, if I can manage).

Terror Attack in London, UK & the Human Cost of Illegal Immigration in the US

(Image of Islamist celebration poster found on The Gateway Pundit)
When I woke up from my nightshift nap yesterday, the first thing I saw on-line were the headlines of the terrorist attack near Parliament where four people were killed and 40 injured.

The POS (piece of shit) was initially described by witnesses as a 40-something Asian man.  This could understandably be a heat-of-the-moment observation, or a case of political correctness (PC) conditioning.

But based on the method of attack--using a vehicle to run down pedestrians, then going at them with a knife--it didn't take me long to "jump to conclusions."

(Image from Meme Generator)
Then there's the usual lag-time in publicizing the POS's name.  Initially there was some confusion about another usual suspect from the "religion of peace."  Whether due to mistaken identity or more PC conditioning, London PD felt confident they ID'd their man, but at the time I'm writing this, they're still not saying.

Whoever he was, he may not have been a card-carrying member of a terrorist organization, but ISIS's minions are happy.  More importantly though--he had support.  Multiple arrests were made as UK police conducted a raid on the jihadist's address.  (UPDATE:  Just as this post was about to upload ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack).

Meanwhile, at least one NBC reporter is more worried about this attack "helping Europe's right wing."

But this latest attack comes as no surprise in the aftermath of the "Love Trumps Hate" protests.

(Another image from Meme Generator)
Ayaan Hirsi Ali said Trump's travel ban was clumsy, but he's right.

Too bad half of our voting population and Democrat politicians won't think so, because it's not just jihadists that are threatening our civilization.

Several days ago, a 14 year old girl was raped in a Maryland high school by one or two illegal aliens.  The second rapist is 17 years old, so like the London police, Maryland authorities have been mum on the rapist's immigration status.

Derek Hunter reminded us that leftists prefer illegal aliens over your kids.  Mark Steyn had similarly scathing words:  Human sacrifices on the Altar of Diversity.

VDH warned what the end-game will be when Law takes a holiday, while Ann Coulter didn't mince words:  We have now hit full-on crazy.

Or at least half the country has.  The rest of us want to bar the gates and man the ramparts...

Quantum of Hacking

The past couple days have been busy ones on Capital Hill.

Neil Gorsuch sat in the hot seat of his confirmation hearings to the Supreme Court.  I haven't been following this story at all, so Erika Haas has a Top 10 Gorsuch Facts List for you to glance at.

And then there was the House Intelligence Committee hearing on the the competing claims of: Russians hacking the 2016 Presidential Election vs. Barry O wiretapping Grand Nagus Trumpler.

Guy Benson provides four key take-aways from the hearings on Russia and wiretapping.

I like Mark Steyn's observation on the Democrats sudden hysteria about Russia:  They've turned Putin into a Bond Villain.

Apparently, Dems aren't the only one who thinks so...

(Image found on:  The English Blog)

Anyway, as to the wiretapping:  After the past eight years, I wouldn't put it past Barry O to do some Watergating on the Grand Nagus.

We're being told nothing of the sort happened, and I guess I'll acquiesce to this until evidence points to the contrary.  (Besides, Trump won the election so if there was some sort of sanctioned surveillance going on, it  didn't help Hillary).

However, The Diplomad wondered:  If the Dems had intel on Trump's connection with Russia, how did they get it?

Fortunately, The Diplomad isn't working for FOX News, otherwise, he'd be benched along with Judge Napolitano.

Video--SteynPost #10: Steyn on Identity Politics

Less than a few months into a four-year contract, CRTV fired Mark Steyn and lawsuits followed.  Matthew Sheffield called it a bizarre case pitting a popular pundit against an Obama-hating billionaire.

Okay, enough of the backstory.

I'm glad to see Mark Steyn posting his videos on YouTube, while he tries to resolve his third legal battle.

Since this one came out nearly a fortnight ago, I came across some posts related to Identity Politics in the aftermath of International Women's Day.

You can take your pick among following:

Women's Day Lunacy

More Prizes for Good Girls

Mean Girls vs. Western Civilization vs. Savages

Did you know you can be healed from your "Toxic Whiteness?"

Talk about the cure being worse than the disease, a non-existent one among us normal Caucasians.

It's Marxists in Social Justice Whiner (SJW) clothing that like playing with the Identity Politics Fire.

They forget, or more likely ignore, there's a valid reason for fearing the stranger.

Unfortunately, SJWs don't merely gather in the street and disrupt traffic.

Many of them get jobs and become the bugs wearing Edgar Suits, destroying institutions from the inside.  Not only do Marxists hollow-out institutions, but love to have individuals think of themselves as victims, so--

--a). They can feel better about themselves for helping "victims," and
--b). They can control said victims.

While it may be easy not to feel like a victim, it's getting harder to find an agency that's not teeming with Marxist bugs.

Rachel's Non-Refundable Return

A few days ago, while my wife and I were binge-watching the first season of Northern Exposure, just over 4 million viewers were duped into watching the Rachel Maddow Show.

The teaser was:  MSNBC supposedly had the goods on Grand Nagus Trumpler and his elusive tax returns.

What viewers got for wasting an hour of their lives they'll never get back, was...

...taxing stupidity.

The NYT tried spinning this as bringing record viewership, but the backlash with a hefty scoop of Schadenfreude, became a bigger story than Rachel's empty scoop.

Geraldo Rivera said Rachel Maddow now has the "Al Copone's Vault" Mantle.

Greg Gutfeld thinks Maddow fell for Trump's baited trap.

Of course, according to Maddow, the reason Trump's Tax Return Episode fizzled...

...was because people expected too much.  Typical leftist elitist attitude:  The unwashed masses aren't capable of understanding a sophisticate like Rachel Maddow.

Yeah.  Keep holding on to that thought Rachel...

Bi-Coastal Weather Woes

I've been off-duty, and off-line for nearly a week.  Which means I haven't been paying any attention to the daily dramedy surrounding Grand Nagus Trumpler.

I even unplug from local news when I'm off-duty, unless I happen to stumble across some all-caps headline.

Two nights ago, I attended our first quarterly training meeting, and was surprised to discover nearly a dozen counties in WA State are under a Flood Watch, while several rivers are under Flood Warnings.

Our weather woes are due to a perfect storm of warmer temperatures, heavy rain and mountain snowmelt.

Despite the rising waters, we're luckier here in the Pacific Northwest, than in the northeast where  Winter Storm Stella dumped more than three feet of snow in some places and caused 11 deaths.

For now, our biggest environmental concern is a crippled sewage treatment plant continues to pump untreated sewage into Puget Sound.

I'll get back to smelly aspects of domestic politics and foreign affairs as soon as I get caught up on what's going on.

Did Barry O Bug the Grand Nagus?

On Saturday, the Grand Nagus accused Barry O of tapping his phones during the election.

The next day, White Houses demanded an investigation into this allegation.

Shortly afterwards, the claim was expanded to include wire tapping against Jeff Sessions.

So:  Is there any truth to Trump's accusation against Obama?

A former AG explained Trump may be right, but not necessarily correct.

And if you think that sounds like doublespeak, like previous scandals, "Obamagate," or "Towergate," as one on-line friend prefers to call it, contains at least two "dodge words."

Roger Simon summarizes #Obamagate is a lot more than a hashtag.

While William Jacobson notices some curious language in both Trump's "wiretap" accusation and Obama's defense.

What I do find curious is how hard leftists are willing to push the Russian Collaboration narrative...

...and yet how quickly they're dismissing Trump's claims.

The Russian hacking/collaboration seems to be losing ground.  At least one AP reporter affirmed there's pretty much nothing wrong with the meetings Trump officials had with the Russians, while one Democratic Senator walked back his "conclusive proof" of Russian collaboration claim.

Maybe Team Trump is generating a smokescreen/narrative to mitigate the Russian Collaboration/Hacked Election narrative.

Unless we have concrete proof--of either story--we may be hearing a cacophony of competing narratives for the next four years.

Leftists Triggered Over Sessions

The liberal/media freakout rolls on.  For the past several days (and counting?), leftists are hell-bent on proving Grand Nagus Donolf Trumpler is a Manchurian Candidate.

AG Jeff Sessions was grilled by Congress over meetings with Russian officials.  Guy Benson provided an analysis on the Sessions Firestorm.

What's hilarious about this story is that the Democrats are so busy "throwing stones," they're forgetting they live in "glass houses."

Oh, where to begin?

How about Pelosi meeting the Barechested Czar's Mini-Me in 2010, along with the Russian ambassador.

Then there's Chuckie Schumer schmoozing Putin over donuts.  This is the same Schumer who said it was okay for former AG Lynch to meet with Slick Willy while Hillary was under investigation.

The Russian Ambassador paid frequent visits to Barry O in the White House.

In case you're wondering, here's a list of Democrats who also met with the Russian Ambassador.

As the Democrats and media continue to stir the pot, The Diplomad observed:  Sabotage is all they have left on the Left

Hopefully, the sabotage will continue to be the self-inflicted variety...

Kellyanne Conway's Couchgate!

While I've been off-line or on-duty, leftists have been triggered over more non-issues than I can keep up with.

So I thought I'd start off the first full week of March with something light:  "Couchgate."

The video, via AMCTV, is from our local station, Q-13 FOX.

Besides the new show, I'm blogging about this because of a couple memes I stumbled across, like this one...

...but here's my favorite:

May you have a feet-on-the-couch relaxing week.

Touching Tribute to Widow During Trump's Address to Congress

I didn't watch Trump address Congress last night.  I'm sure there will be all sorts of post-address commentaries, which  I may post about it when I return back on-line.

In the meantime, here's the segment featuring touching tribute to Carryn Owens, widow to US Navy Seal Ryan Owens.

Rebel Media: Wait a Minute--Is #Pizzagate Real?

In researching for the best way to write a post about the uproar over Milo Yiannopoulos last week, I stumbled across this Rebel Media video.

My problem is dealing with the Squicky nature of the controversy--condoning sex between adults and underage individuals.

"Pizzagate" keeps popping up at irregular intervals, but I haven't looked into it at all.  Primarily because the non-fake news sources I visit don't have anything to go on.  On the other hand, the rest of the mainstream media, including Wikipedia, has declared it a conspiracy theory and fake news.

Whether Pizzagate is real or not, Liz Crokin brings up a good question:  Why is the MSM ignoring Trump's sex trafficking busts?

Probably because they're too busy making sure "The Dangerous Faggot," as Milo's called himself, remains defanged.

Meanwhile, I may get around to writing about "The Milo Mess" sooner or later.

Or I may not.
