While I was out and about this weekend celebrating Valentine's Day, something went rotten in Denmark.

Two shootings occurred in Copenhagen within hours of each other on Valentine's Day. Then in the predawn hours the following day, the suspect, who's name has not been released yet, was shot and killed by Danish police.
But what kind of criminal past, and what gang did he belong to has not yet been revealed at the time I'm writing this.
While depressing, this head-in-the-sand mentality isn't surprising. (See my previous post).
The Danish PM, Helle Throning-Schmidt, at least admitted that "Denmark has been hit by terror..." but then hedged by saying "We do not know the motive for the alleged perpetrator's actions..."
Well, there's at least two folks who are willing to give the perp's motive their best guess.
While Mark Steyn took a look at the broader implications of a declining west/societal suicide in The Morning After.
The Danish leaders are following in the footsteps of their French counterparts--ignoring the nature of the threat they face.

Lone Wolf here, Lone Wolf there sooner or later you have a real war.

Many folks in the West might not think we're at war with the Islamists, but the Islamists believe they're at war with us.
