O Still Pulling Punches on Armenian Genocide

Last week marked the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.  But you'd hardly know this if you go by what Our Dear Leader says.  For the seventh year in a row, Obama broke his promise to actually use the word "genocide."

Even though a century has passed, Turkey still refuses to come to terms with it.

But not only is the word "genocide" never used by those sitting in the Oval Office, "Muslim" and "Christian" aren't used either.  Raymond Ibrahim makes the connection of The Islamic genocide of Christians, past and present.

Clinton Foundation: An "Atypical Business Model"

Describing the Clinton Foundation as an "atypical business model" is an Orwellian euphemism for corruption.

Mark Steyn is "keeping score" in the Clinton Scandal Tournament.  So far, the game (which is already being rigged by the media), is:  Uranium--One, America--Zip.

Breaking News: Baltimore Burning

(Image from the NY Post)

While I was off-shift and sleeping, riots erupted in Baltimore, MD.

As of now, the governor of Maryland called-out the national guard after roving gangs attacked police, torched a police car and a store .

Our nation is facing turmoil from within as well as from outside the Ramparts of Civilization.

I fear more cities will burn in the months and years ahead.

Hill's Baggage Just Got Heavier

If Hillary's baggage wasn't heavy enough; uranium, one of the heavies elements, was added a few days ago in the form of a deal between the Clinton Foundation and Russian investors to acquire uranium mines in Canada

Of course, the Clinton Foundation mouthpiece is trying to brush this aside:  Yes, we made some mistakes.

Simple accounting errors.  Could happen to anyone, right?

Right.  It's just that such errors always seem to occur when the Clintons are involved.

Mark Steyn isn't buying it and rolls-in with his fighting for everyday Americans and everyday uranium-dealing Kazakhs.

Earthquake in Nepal

Over the weekend, a massive earthquake struck Nepal.  As of now, the death toll has climbed above 3,000 victims.  Sadly, the number of casualties are expected to climb.

Relief efforts are underway.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

In my job at Washington State Emergency Management, we monitor around the world, especially within our own state, and the Pacific Rim due to the danger of tsunamis.

So disasters like this are very relatable to me on both a personal and professional level.

ISIS's Structure Revealed

We often like to think of terrorists as certifiably insane, and hell-bent on causing death and destruction for the sake of causing death and destruction.

Nothing could be further from the truth, especially where the Islamic State is involved.

Apparently, ISIS's chief strategist got himself killed last year in the embattled town of Tal Rifaat

Taking-out a terror chieftain was certainly good news.  But what's even better is the treasure trove of documents he left behind revealing the structure of the Islamic State.

Let's hope we can put this intelligence coup to good use.

Captain Kirk's Water Pipeline Proposal

(Image from:  Proof Positive)

Earlier this week, "Captain Quirk" concocted a Kickstarter scheme to alleviate California's four-year drought:  By running a water pipeline from Seattle to Lake Meade.

Apparently, Shatner didn't hear back from the Away Team that reported WA State is currently facing a drought this year.

Obama: Desperate for a Deal

Negotiations with Iran over its Nuke Program should have resumed yesterday.

As I'm writing this, there's been little or no news regarding the progress of the negotiations.

However, we're already five steps behind Iran, the latest being the mullahs are not going to allow their military sites to be inspected.

Our Dear Leader may very well get his deal done with Iran.

However, many of us like-minded folks feel this won't end well...

Hillary Clinton: Queen of the Corruptocrats

Well another "Right Wing Conspiracy" may be in the making for the Bill & Hill Clinton.  The Hillary Camp is in damage-control mode over a new book's revelations.

Basically, Clinton Cash is suppose to be about the ton-o-cash the "dead-broke" Clintons have raked-in.

It makes me wonder:  What will it take to folks like these away from the levers of power?

Mark Steyn has a simple 2016 Campaign wish:  "I would like a candidate who promises to hose out the sewer."

My feelings are similar.

Big Government has led to Big Corruption.  Since 2008, the prime offenders have been Democrats.  However, last year's "Red Tsunami" was full of campaign promises made by Republicans, now seems to have petered-out after four months in office.

Will Clinton Cash derail Hillary's bid for the Oval Office Throne, or will it be another "phony scandal?"

I hope this supposed bomb-shell of a book turns out to be Clintonian Kryptonite.  But the non-FOX media is eager to see their queen coronated.

No Contenders Against Clinton

Last week, VDH wrote a damning piece, asking:  Why is Hillary Clinton even running?

Unfortunately, the short answer is:  Because there is no other contender the Democrats could put into the ring.

The way the leftist political landscape looks, all Team Hillary has to do is coast through the Democratic Primaries on name recognition--and recycled ideas...

Battling With Bees on I-5

(Image from: KIRO 7 News)

Before I came on duty yesterday, a semi transporting millions of bees rolled over on I-5

I saw this young lady on the news, but didn't see her get stung:

(Image from: Q13 FOX)

We didn't get involved until 0700 hours (7 AM, PST), when a dispatcher from WA State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) called and requested support from our Department of Ecology.  This was due to the foam used to kill the bees was flowing into a nearby storm drain.

King 5 News, has a short video of foaming down the bee hives.

But here's what some beekeeper responders looked like wading into the swarm:

(Another image from Q13 FOX)

And here's what the mess looked like when the sun came up:

(Image from:  RT.com)

This incident quickly reminded me of an episode Rescue 911 (Episode 501).

As far as I know, the emergency response managed to clean up the mess within hours, only two lanes of I-5N was closed, and no one was seriously hurt in the Pacific Northwest version of "Swarm Save."

Hillary Hillarity

Not to be outdone by King Barack, Our Queen-in-Waiting has followed-suit and had a personal logo designed for her.

Powerline started this week on a humorous note with some logographic spoofs.

Meanwhile, foreign governments will continue to funnel money into the Clinton Foundation Coffers and there's her 180-degree turn-arounds on issues which will provide additional fodder for conservative commentators.

However, none of this is important to Hillary's groupies, which include 40% congressional Democrats.  They have a symbol they can rally 'round:

So even though the deck is stacked (against us), the question is:  Will they be able to carry their queen's scandal-loaded baggage all the way to Super Tuesday 2016?

Hearing A Lot About Hillary

Now that Hillary's presidential bid was made official a few days ago, we'll be hearing a lot of the good, the bad and the ugly about her in the upcoming 18-month campaign trail.

First, Team Hillary may not be the juggernaut her supporters believe she is.

According to a Bloomberg Poll, a majority of Democrats and Independents want to see another challenger enter the primary.  Their biggest issue:  They don't think their "champion" is all that truthful.

So, of course, the presumptive madam president's minions are already turning this into a campaign against the glass ceiling, even though the most voters consider Hillary's gender to be of minimal significance

Meanwhile, on the lighter side of things, Mark Steyn will be dusting-off some earlier articles about Bill & Hill that still resonate today, like:

Nuke Deal DOA Without Congressional Approval

Our Petty President

While Hillary announced her intention to become the next president, our current Community Organizer in-Chief continues to act petty and spiteful.

The White House Fact Sheet summarizing the nuke deal with Iran, mocked Netanyahu's bomb cartoon.

Last week, former Secretaries of State, Henry Kissinger and George Shultz, teamed-up to warn us adults about the Iran Deal and it's consequences.

But all the juveniles in the Obama Administration can say is the deal is complicated and that Henry & George use "big words."

Maybe, as Mark Steyn mentioned in part of his article, should sit down in a safe space and watch some cartoons...

Hillary Officially Announces Her Bid for President

I've just returned from visiting family, only to learn that Hillary Clinton announced her presidential campaign.

Hillary wants to be our champion.

The problem with this claim is:  Champions are usually trustworthy.

For those of us who don't trust Hillary, her presidential bid is merely a "Take Two."

I'm sure there'll be plenty of  refreshments for Hillary's supporters on the road to 2016...

Well, at least the SNL parody skit was funny.

Bad Deals in the First Place

And we all know how that's turned out, don't we?

Which is why us like-minded folks are skeptical, to say the least, about this Nuke Deal 2.0 with Iran.

However, Obama and his cheerleaders continue to thump us with The Gospel According to Tom (Friedman).  The White House Mouthpiece even accuses Republicans of undermining the deal.

Meanwhile, Austin Bay points out that there are few verifiable facts with this "understanding".  (Hint:  All of them are bad).

We'll find out, probably all-to-soon, whether we have peace in our time--or (more likely) an updated version of "peace in our time."

The Bakery Brouhaha

I haven't weighed-in on the uproar in Indiana over Christian-owned bakeries and pizzerias refusing to cater to gay weddings--even when merely posed as a hypothetical question.

Since I haven't discussed this issue, I'll start by airing my own thoughts:

Two things irk me about activists (notice I haven't used the term "left wing" or "right wing").

First is their You're-Either-For-Us-Or-Against-Us attitude. Activist groups consider themselves to be fighting for acceptance.  However, their actions (which speak louder than words and all that) demonstrate that their end game is a demand for complete and total agreement.

That's never going to happen, regardless of anyone's religious/political/social beliefs.  John Stossel says everyone "has a right to discriminate."

And speaking of actions, this leads me to the second issue I have against activist groups:  At best, they follow the path of least resistance.  At their worst, they're bullies picking of others who they feel won't fight back, or at least mount an effective counter-attack.

Now to the news at hand:

Howard Kurtz offers a good summary on what the Indiana pizza attacks tell us about free speech, which nicely discusses my first issue with activist groups.

Meanwhile, In From the Cold, took a break from national security matters to point out how activists (groups and so-called journalists), only go after folks they feel secure in going after--like Christians.

No one in the press seems to be concerned that Muslim bakeries routinely refuse to cater to the hot-button gay weddings, as discussed in his Video of the Day.  Not to mention gay-owned bakeries refusing to cater to anti-gay events.

It makes me wonder what will compel the press to divert their attention from what Ann Coulter describes as a steady stream of manufactured events (which they help manufacture in the first place)...

Same Agreement--Two Translations

Well, both Team Mullahs and Team Obama are claiming victory in this agreement-to-make-an-agreement over Iran's nuke program.

Whether it's the "same agreement" or not, Prime Minister Netanyahu hasn't backed down from his concern that the Iran nuclear deal will pose a threat to Israel's very existence.

He isn't alone.  Caroline Glick thinks we're now on diplomatic track to war.

Only the blind can't see this.

Racialists Ruling the Roost

Even though I didn't vote for Obama in '08 or '12, and I consider him a failure as a president, I thought we'd have at least driven a stake into the heart of racism.

Instead, thanks to the trio pictured in Glenn McCoy's cartoon, the racist monster is kept alive and well fed.

And as you might guess, without even reading his article, the rules don't apply to everyone equally.

In the second part of this series, VDH discusses the three final statues of being a racialist

#BringBackOurGirls is a Bust

(Image by Gary Varvel in "The Week")

While the world is focused on the US-Iranian Nuke Deal and the conflict swirling over the sands of the Middle East, Boko Haram remains all-too active in sub-Saharan Africa.

Many of us like-minded folks knew the lame hashtag "BringBackOurGirls" wouldn't entice the terrorists to change their ways, and release the girls they captured nearly a year ago.

Sadly, it appears that many of the girls have been/are being murdered as military forces advance against Boko Haram positions.

Nor is Boko Haram the only terrorist group unfazed by hashtags.

It doesn't a political cartoon like this...
 ...to see the terrorist connections.

(By the way:  Wikipedia considers Al-Shabaab a "militant group").

Breaking News: "Outlines of Understanding" Achieved with Iran

Well, the non-FOX News media was in full Team Obama cheerleader mode today.

Why?

Mr. Ed on The Ed Show praised the deal and our presidential deal-maker with this tingly-legged comment:  "Perhaps we're seeing hope and change in action."

Perhaps.

We've certainly given the mullahs hope in sanctions relief.

And as for change, most of us like-minded folks feel as if the American sun is setting and we're living in the ghastly shadow of Munich.

Hillary's Honesty Factor in Freefall?

Polls can be notoriously unreliable.

And we still don't know--officially--if Hillary Clinton will run in the 2016 Presidential Election.

But if the latest poll can be believed, Hillary could face an up-hill battle in the voting booths if she runs, because:  Voters in key states don't trust her due to the on-going e-mail scandal.

The bad news, however, is you can't count Hillary out completely.  That's because Camp Clinton is readying to play the Sexist Cards on anyone who disagrees with their ordained queen.
