The Beginning of the Great Crusade

Today marks the 70th Anniversary of the start of World War II.

When Germany launched an unprovoked attack on Poland; Great Britain, France and several Commonwealth nations declared war on Germany two days later.

On 17 September 1939 Soviet forces crossed the eastern border completing Poland's dismemberment.
