Today marks the 70th Anniversary of the start of World War II.
When Germany launched an unprovoked attack on Poland; Great Britain, France and several Commonwealth nations declared war on Germany two days later.
On 17 September 1939 Soviet forces crossed the eastern border completing Poland's dismemberment.
