A teenage girl was the sole survivor of a small plane crash that occurred last weekend.
Our agency, the WA State Emergency Management Division, got involved almost from the start.
It started off as an Overdue Aircraft, called-in by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center on Saturday night.
By Sunday morning, WA State Department of Transportation's Aviation Division (WSDOT-AVN) and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) were flying search missions.
On Monday, Autumn Veatch was picked up by a motorist, taken to a general store where she called 911.
Autumn's ordeal made national (CNN) and international (The Guardian) news.
Here's a snippet of the 911 call.
