It's Good to be the Governor

Here in Washington State, we narrowly averted a government shutdown--again--before the Independence Day Weekend.  (Two years ago, we averted a state government shutdown over the bi-annual budget).

Apparently, the citizens of the Garden State weren't so lucky.  The state government shut down started on Friday (30 June) and wasn't resolved until Monday, (3 July) when Governor Chris Christie signed a budget deal.

Ah, but in a great example of It's good to be the King,  Christie--and his family--were spotted on a beach--a public beach closed to the rest of the Jersey serfs over the weekend due to the government shut down.

Maybe Christie needed the solitude to ponder why he didn't get the Republican Party nomination during the 2016 Presidential Campaign.
