Another Red Line?

Last week, the Syrian government was accused of using chemical weapons.  Again.  Over the weekend, Assad's cronies made a counter claim that it was the rebels who used chemical weapons.

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration hints at cruise missile strikes against Syria.

Fine and good.  I guess.

There is no easy solution to the Syrian civil war.

But when an American president talks about "red lines" and hints at dire consequences if the line is crosssed, then does nothing about it when an adversary does cross it--allies as well as other adversaries take notice.

It would have been better for Obama and our nation's reputation, if he'd not said anything at all.
