The Perils of Proxies in War

The situation in Syria highlights the moral hazard of proxy warfare. 

 

Apparently though, Cuba still has no moral qualms about being Russia's proxy in the Western Hemisphere. 

 

News of Cuban troops deploying to Syria began surfacing initially from the University of Miami, Cuban and Cuban-American Studies, and then picked up by FOX News followed by UPI.

 

So much for Our Dear Leader's normalization with Cuba.

 

Never mind the '80s, as one friend wrote:

 

Angola redux?  It really is the '70s again.

 

While Comrade Karla responded:

 

President Obama!  The '70s just called!  They want their foreign and domestic policy back.

No matter what decade redux we're experiencing, these are perilous times, especially if we continue to yield ground outside the Ramparts of Civilization.
