The O Tango

Last week, while Brussels burned, Our Dear Leader danced the night away in Argentina and watched a baseball game in Havana.

This isn't the first time Obama's offered tepid support, if any, in the face of mass-casualty event.

To paraphrase Charles Krauthammer's comments cited in the Obama Tango video, Our Dear Leader's been on an ideological holiday for the past several years.  Even MSNBC thought tango was "...out of step with the American public."

Now, should an American president--even Obama--drop everything after every terrorist attack overseas?

Of course not.  But Obama could at least showed--or at least pretended--to care.

And yet, he couldn't even do that,  not to mention the pretense of resolve.

Then there's the whole chumming-up to Castro...

...not to mention ignoring the plight of the Cuban regime's victims.

Lights Snuffed Out in the West

It's been a few days now since the Brussels Bombing.

While I certainly sympathize with the nearly 300 victims, I haven't conducted any sentimental response.

Not even so much as changed my profile picture on Facebook to the Belgian flag.

The reason for my apparent callous indifference is because I'm not into the one-stop shop for all your terror-sentimentalizing needs.

Instead, I like The Diplomad's ideas for dealing with the Islamic threat.

In short: Keep Muslims outside the Ramparts of Civilization until the Ummah reigns-in the terrorists among them.

Unfortunately, western leaders, bureaucrats and most of the media, continue to think importing people from failed states is a great idea--even if there are cadres of wolves in the fold.

This is one of--if not the main reason--why Trump is so popular with rank-and-file conservatives.

Oh, I certainly don't believe Trump will save civilization as we know it.

But unless we turn off the flow of fifth columnists, then Chamberlain-ization of our society will continue to see "acceptable levels of violence."

Of Memes and Muslim Terrorists

(Image found on Facebook)
In the wake of the Brussels Bombings, Belgian police conducted nation-wide raids and found more explosives.  The only shred of decent news is third suspect was reportedly caught.

The Diplomad wrote a quick commentary on the Muslim Murder Machine rolling through Brussels, and the common denominator most of our politicians and media ignore:

Islam.

I'm certainly not the only one "...sick of this shit."  Mark Steyn who was "Islamed out" after last year's attack on Paris, criticizes the preemptive apologies in his Tomorrow's Civilizational Cringe Today article.

Here's another meme that captures my feelings of solidarity with our allies and attitude towards our Islamic enemies:

A Tribute to a Politcal Cartoonist

(Image:  Glenn Foden's next-to-last piece posted in Townhall)
I started blogging for nearly eight years now, starting with a single site.  After a year or so, I split my sites into two, with Station WTFO focusing on current events.

I began utilizing political cartoons near the end of 2010, primarily from Townhall

I figure the news I relay is depressing enough and these posts need a dose of humor that news photos and my own prose can't provide.

Often I'll find a cartoon I like first, then I'll search for an appropriate story.

So I was saddened to hear that Glenn Foden passed away yesterday.

RIP Glenn and thank you for all the work you did.

Breaking News: Bombs Detonate in Brussels

News of this latest terror attack is currently unfolding.

As of now:  At least 13 people have been killed by bomb blasts at Brussels Airport and Metro Station.

Choosing the Lesser of Two Evils in 2016

Anti-Trump Protests erupted a couple days ago Fountain Hills, Arizona, and near Trump Tower in New York City.

A lot of us on the right side of the political aisle aren't all that enthused about the idea of a Trump presidency.

But at least we can find a shred of humor with the Trump Tower of Terror!!!

And more importantly, we consider it less evil than a Clinton Sequel Administration...

...In all seriousness though, while the proletariat are taking to the streets against Trump, they're not manning the barricades against Hillary.

John Hawkins asks the silent majority of leftists this question:  How can you feel good about yourself if you vote for Hillary?

Trump Trampling the GOP

With about four months left to go until the 2016 Republican National Convention, an Anti-Trump Coalition is coalescing.  Conservative activists are trying to conjure-up Trump alternatives.

Both conventions, may indeed, be contested.

Getting back to the GOP side of the aisle:  It's not just that many "pure" conservatives--or at least ones who consider themselves purer than Trump--hate the guy.  They're afraid Trump will be trounced in the General Election if he goes up against Hillary.

According to the latest polls, Millennials, women and non-whites in-general, prefer Hillary.

But nothing is preordained.

Or, at least I like to think so.

Here are some thoughts about Conservatism, and about Trump the Magnificent Bastard, which help explain the Boorish Billionaire's populist appeal.

Make That 28 Lies

A few days ago, I wrote about "The 27 Lies of Hillary Clinton."

No sooner than I posted the article the Hillary outdid all the previous lies with this one:

We didn't lose a single person in Libya.

Maybe the Callous Queen was referring to minions who are--or were--important to her presidential presumptions.

The Anti-Political Party Party

Well Marco Rubio's campaign didn't survive the Ides of March.
As he departed the scene, he warned about "politics of resentment."

Yes, as far as us conservative-ish folks are concerned, we do resent the GOP Establishments "business as usual" attitude--especially on immigration.

Ann Coulter describe conservatives' collective mood with her Voters Deliver Subtle Message: Die Donor Scum article.

The Boorish Billionaire wouldn't be anywhere near as popular (or "popular") if the GOP voters were satisfied with the GOPs performance.

Speaking of performing, the Corrupt Queen made a cameo appearance on "Broad City." (A show I've never heard of until now, and will never watch).  Greg Gutfeld considered this an indicator of how leftists think.

They're certainly blind to Hillary's serial scandals.

As of now it looks like we're heading for a Boorish Billionaire vs. Corrupt Queen dynastic struggle this November.

During the Ides of March Primaries, John Kasich was the only contender to win any state against Trump--one--his home state of Ohio.

For your favorite (or most despised) candidate's standing, check out the 2016 Primary Results.

So come Election Tuesday, many Americans--at least the ones who won't sit out the election--will be casting their lost for the Presidential Pretender they hate the least.

The 27 Lies (and Counting?) of Hillary Clinton

In the wake of the Donkey Drove Debate this past weekend, Ben Shapiro provided us a summary of Hillary Clinton's 27 fibs, obfuscations, and lies.

Now many of us (all of us?) like minded-folks have issues with The Boorish Billionaire campaigning in the GOP Primaries.

But, jeez!  One single Clinton Scandal would be enough to doom a Republican wannabee's dreams of ascending the Oval Throne.

The Corrupt Queen's faithful are many:

Too bad the DOJ hasn't issued a warrant for Hillary's arrest in time for Ides of March.

Breaking News: Puget Sound Area Pounded by Storm

A second storm hit our area about a week after the last one blew through.

The image at the bottom of the article showing an SUV crushed by a falling tree, killing a man, is the most poignant one in the gallery.

History Going Down the Memory Hole

(Image from: Ex-Army's post about Social Justice Warriors)

It's Monday morning, and in campuses across America students are filing into their classrooms--or logging on-line.

But what are they learning?

In regards to history and culture, especially that of Western Civilization, practically nothing.

Patrick Deneen lamented how a generation lost its common culture.

Meanwhile, here in the Pacific Northwest, the students of Western Washington University haven't lost its culture, but are attempting to flush it down the Memory Hole.

Today's up-and-coming social justice warriors (SJWs) want to ban history, or at least the traditional concepts of history, to include changing the name to "Hxstory."

There are times that make me wonder if I should pursue a doctorial degree.

But then when I read stories like these, I want to stay as far away from "wackidemia" as I possibly can.

I can imagine myself being declared a serial micro-aggressor by the Campus Comintern.

Unleashing Voters from the Id

This past Friday, protesters forced Trump to cancel his rally in Chicago.

While not every protester was a dyed-in-the-wool communist, there was at least one Soviet standard bearer in the crowd.

Of course, what's left of the Pachyderm Parade blames Trump campaign rallies for creating chaotic environments.

The Boorish Billionaire's popularity among rank-and-file conservatives mirrors Bolshevik Bernie's popularity among the proletariat.

Voters sitting on both sides of the political aisle are fed up with the business-as-usual, self-styled political ruling class.

Trump, Bernie and Hillary are enough to cause emotions to soar even at the very mention of their names.

However, we must be careful among our fellow Americans during this volatile election and avoid unleashing monsters--Monsters from the Id.

(I wonder if cartoonist Nate Beeler's cartoon was, in fact, inspired by the movie Forbidden Planet).

Seattle Fueling the Bern

If the "...sinews of war are infinite money..." (attributed to Marcus Tullius Cicero), then Seattlites are providing the bulk of sinews for Bolshevik Bernie's class warfare-based presidential campaign.

A Seattle Times writer proudly proclaimed--Seattle is Berning: We're tops in the US for per capita Bernie Sanders donations.

The celebrations may be short-lived, one way or another, once Bolshevik Bernie runs out of other peoples' money...

ISIS Following Islamic Conquest Template

Ever since the Islamic State's atrocities gained the media spotlight, apologists for the "JV Team" like to lecture us about their "un-Islamic" barbarity.

Raymond Ibrahim explains why the Islamic State's ancient jihadi tactics shock the West, and follows a similar, if not the same pattern as the Muslim Conquests.

When my friend posted this article on his Facebook page, I responded:

The Islamic State's tactics only shock those who haven't read history. Which, now that I think of it, means a lot of people.

As long as our collective ignorance of the past continues, the future will become grimmer and darker...

Breaking News: Gas Explosion in the Seattle Area

Greenwood explosion destroyed buildings and injured nine firefighters.

My coworkers on night shift were alerted to this by Seattle's Office of Emergency Management.

So far the locals haven't requested any assistance, and we're all grateful none of the firefighters were seriously hurt.

A couple weeks ago, a propane leak destroyed a home and killed two residents in Port Orchard.

Book Review: Shadow Knights

(Note:  This post appeared on my Stern Rake Studio blog three days ago)

It's been a while since I read a non-fiction book, so I think it's time to take a break from today's dreary headlines.

Nearly six years ago, Simon & Schuster started a line of books called Pulp History.  The intent was to introduce readers to some of the past's most thrilling stories.

And what could be more thrilling than British agents infiltrating Nazi-occupied Europe?

Shadow Knights: The Secret War Against Hitler is an illustrated book about some of the men and women of Britain's Special Operations Executive (SOE)

While the book touches on various aspects of SOE's existence, the focus rests on the exploits of Harry Ree, Noor Inayat Khan, and the team of Norwegians responsible for the destruction of Germany's heavy water production.

In addition to stirring accounts of survival, betrayal, capture and the occasional triumph; Shadow Knights is lavishly illustrated with maps, sidebar notes, while artist Jeffrey Smith's splash pages bring the characters to life.

I give this book a solid four-star rating, leaning more towards work of entertainment than an in-depth historical analysis of irregular warfare waged against Nazi Germany.  For the sake of telling stories of derring do, Shadow Knights "pulps over" many aspects of World War II, outside the scope of SOE's operations.
The book has a 4.5-star rating out of 5 on Amazon.com.

Unfortunately, Simon & Schuster's Pulp History fizzled out after releasing only two books, the second being, Devil Dog: The Amazing True Story of the Man Who Saved America.

Both books can be found in used book stores or through Amazon.com.

Sailors' Surrender Scrutinized

It's nearly been two months since the Iranians grabbed 10 of our sailors.

An investigation has been underway, but now we're finally hearing a bit more, from anonymous sources, on what transpired.

Foreign Policy Magazine's latest article provides us with a peek inside the US Navy's Iran Fiasco.

Mitt's Hit & Debate Debacle

I didn't watch last week's Pachyderm Parade debate on FOX News.

All the non-FOX networks have been playing sound bites of Trump bragging to Rubio about the--ahem--stature of his manhood.

The Diplomad declared the debate results were mixed.

Prior to this presidential campaign pecker-checking, Mitt Romney became the spokesman of the Anti-Trump Alliance, warning the masses on what a tool Trump is.

This may be mostly/entirely true, but it seems to be doing nothing other than "endorsing" Trump.

One thing is for certain:  If there is a schism within the GOP, a third party vote will be a vote for Hillary Clinton.

Hillary's Run for the White House

Too bad it's not (yet) a run to The Big House.

Corrupt Queen Hillary may have left Bolshevik Bernie in the dust on Super Tuesday.

We may be looking at a Hillary vs Trump bout in November--if Hillary can outpace the on-going FBI investigation into those "Chelsea's Wedding" e-mails.

But there's a glimmer of new hope that the long arm of the law will begin to grasp our conniving queen.

The DOJ granted immunity to the Clinton aide who set up the secret server in exchange for cooperation.

The race isn't over, and unfortunately neither is Hillary's presidential aspiration.

Super Tuesday Synopsis

Matt Vespa wrote a Super Tuesday Synopsis the other day.

In short, unless there's a political tectonic shift the Corrupt Queen and the Boorish Billionaire are well positioned to win the nomination of their respective parties.

There's a lot of infighting among the Pachyderm Parade, both on-air during the debates, and off-air within the GOP.  This, quite frankly, I find tiresome.  So I'm not going to delve into the gory details.

One article I did like was VDH's observation of politicians failing to connect with voters using a log cabin candidates imagery.

Despite all the log cabin sob stories, if the current trajectories hold, then voters may be asked questions like this one:

And the Presidential Oscar Goes To...

....

I haven't started sifting through the Post-Super Tuesday tea leaves yet.

So I figured a dose of humor was in order, especially since Super Tuesday was hot-on-the-heels of this year's Academy Awards (another televised event I avoided).

Too bad Ken Catalino's picture wasn't a police line-up.

Here's Nate Beeler's homage to the Academy Awards:

Although maybe Chris Christie should have received the Best Supporting Actor Award.
