Death of Women Sports & Politicizing the Olympics

The day after Inauguration Day 2021, Zhou Bei Den brought “equality” to women’s sports.

And natural-born women are being left in the dust ever since.

This was a problem I’ve blogged about before, but now Creepy Uncle Joe officially empowered biological males to defeat female athletes at their own games.

We’re witnessing the slow, suffocating death of women’s sports.

There’ll be at least one trans athlete who will destroy female competitors at 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Laura Rosen Cohen asks the following on her “Weight Grifting”article:

What kind of loser male athlete pretends to be a woman in order to break out of his regular loser status?  How much do you have to hate women and women’s sports to do such a thing, and why should anyone celebrate such despicable madness?

Why indeed.

Here’s a Twitter thread highlighting some of the “sudden” and “stunning” victories by biological male athletes competing in women’s sports.

But it doesn't take a man LARPsing (Live Action Role Playing) as a woman to ruin sports for everyone.

US Olympian & hammer-thrower, Gwen Berry, turned her back during the National Anthem at last weekend's Olympic Trials.

So if she hates America so much, why is she even competing?.

The third-place sore winner copped a backlash for her podium activist antics.

But of course, Berry--and the White House--are defending her actions.

This was just the latest in her long line of political stunts.

As many of us are getting ready to celebrate Independence Day, we shouldn't have to remind our fellow citizens that, yes, it is ungrateful to turn your back on the National Anthem.

While The White House is all-in for Gwen's latest selfish publicity stunt, Congressman "Nick Fury" Crenshaw called for her to be removed from the team.

All this are just another couple reasons for "taking a knee" to sports.

NBA vs. PRC

I often say:  I was a child in the '60s--not a child of the '60s.

I vaguely remember images of the Vietnam War being broadcast on the nightly news (there was no 24-hour news cycle).  But it wasn't until the Yom Kippur War broke out that I started paying attention to what was going on in the world.

Along with these two wars erupting early in my life, I remember the anti-war and anti-nuclear protesters.  However, I was too young for either of these movements to have any influence on my political-social opinions.

I did notice one thing about these early American and Western European activist groups ever one of them ever since:

They never take-on true authoritarian regimes.

They called upon America and her allies to disarm our nuclear deterrence, but never asked the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact to do the same.

Feminist get riled-up over real--and imagined--sexism, but are silent over the plight of women in Muslim countries.

And this trend continues to this day.

Last weekend the NBA drew the ire of the People's Republic of China (PRC), when the owner of the Houston Rockets tweeted his support of the Hong Kong protesters.

The result?

The "woke when convenient" NBA kowtowed before their Chinese overlords.

Initially, the PRC stopped NBA broadcasts while other sanctions followed.

Fortune Magazine crunched the numbers and determined Daryl Morey's tweet is a problem for the NBA.  (Note:  This Fortune Magazine video has garnered all negative comments and more thumbs down than thumbs up ratings).

Laua Ingraham called this giving the PRC full-court press, while Tucker Carlson pointed out that we live in an Age of Woke Capitalism (with a limit on Free Speech).

And the PRC has infiltrated more than just American sports.  Many other US companies cave to the PRC's censorship demands.

So as leftist politicians want to replace American citizens with illegal aliens in order to influence future elections, American businesses are willing to ditch American customers for communist ones.

Wahmen's Sore Winning Soccer Team

Last Sunday, the US Women's Soccer Team won the world cup.

But because of the repugnant behavior by the co-captain, Megan Rapinoe and some (all?) of her teammates I can't even rouse myself for a Monty Python "...and there was much rejoicing..."

Like American football, soccer (or football as the rest of the world calls it) is now woke and is now one less activity or event for normal Americans to enjoy.

As far as me and Stephanie Hamill are concerned, Megan Rapinoe is no hero.

(Image from:  Liberals Hate Me And I'm Okay With That)

Better yet, as Ben Shapiro said, she's completely obnoxious. while Salty Cracker points out, Megan Rapinoe is the team's co-captain and that no one knows who the other one is, or as Bill O'Reilly put it:

The Women's Soccer celebration becomes the "Megan Rapinoe Show."

In addition to her not going to the "...fucking White House..." comment and her unwillingness to meet with anyone who disagrees with her, she's got her team and fans whipped-up into an "equal pay" frenzy.

However, just like the "gender pay gap" that supposedly exists in far less glamorous jobs, according to the Factual Feminist, the apparent pay disparity is due to market forces based on revenue and viewership.

In short;  Men's sports draws more fans than women.

In conclusion:  The US Women's Soccer Team can't handle their world cup victory.

Huge Hypocrisy Over College Admissiongate

Early last week, news broke of a huge scandal over admissions to elite universities, netting 50 individuals charged, including 2 Hollyweirdos.

The Diplomad is having a laugh at hypocritical, high profile leftists (see A.F. Branco's cartoon above).

Meanwhile, Liz Wheeler calls them out, along with pointing out the failings of leftist feeling of entitlement.

And then there's the sense of irony illustrated in Bob Gorrell's cartoon:

Stilton's Place called this School of Fort Knox scandal amusing, but a distraction from bigger issues.
(Like the mass murder at two mosques in New Zealand)

While I agree Stilton for the most part, Admissiongate is important for us like-minded folks to be aware of how deep and entrenched the sense of entitlement runs among our well-to-do.

In there minds, as Mark Steyn often said about Crooked Queen Clinton:  Laws are for little people.

And speaking of little people with little blogs, ever since Commissar Cortez announced her Green New Deal (see last post), and most of the Donkey Drove going full-Marxist, I've started posting political material regularly on Facebook.

Not only did I post Bob Gorrell's cartoon above on Facebook, but also this one by Michael Ramirez...

...with the following comment:

Another lesson of the College Bribery Scandal:
Don't take advice from celebrities on political, social, or life-hack matters; or look to them as role models.
For the amount of money the Hollyweirdos sunk into bribes, they could have hired top-notch tutors and personal trainers for their slacker offspring.

I'll try to maintain some sense of humor about my direct posting to social media, mostly in the form of political cartoons I like.

My leftist acquaintances have been making their voices heard--loudly--and I've been letting them have their say.

But since they now want to Make America Venezuela, I don't plan on remaining silent any longer.

The Media Sycophants of Rocket Man's Sis

The 2018 Winter Olympics opened last week, and North Korea's participation has received widespread coverage--to the point of disgraceful, Olympic-level fawning.

Why?

Well, here's one reason:

CNN was also irked by our Race Bannon look-a-like VP for "missing an opportunity" in chatting with Kim Jong Un's sister, N. Korea's propaganda minister.

The sucking-up to Kim's sister, Kim Jo Yong, wasn't limited to CNN either.

Chris Reeves provided a sample of leftist media lickspittle.

Despite the backlash, the NYT CEO felt the fawning was "good reporting."

Well, the "good reporting" overlooked the fact that "The Hunger Games" are a reality in North Korea.

Here's some folks who haven't overlooked reality--

--Brittany Hughes rolled-in on the mealy mouthed media with her Reality Check.

--Greg Gutfeld concocted a Valentine's Day tribute to Kim Yo Jong.

--Kurt Schlichter reminded us that the leftist media's slobbering over the Norks reminds us why we have the Second Amendment.

I posted this comparison, along with Bob Gorrell's latest political cartoon on Facebook:

Watching the media fawning over Rocket Man's kid sister (who's gainfully employed as the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea's Minister of Propaganda and Agitation) is like watching Jane Fonda frolicking on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun.

SJWs Sullying Sports (and Every Other Form of Entertainment)

The NFL is getting sacked, in good part due to their players taking a knee during the National Anthem.

A recent NYT article pointed out that the NFL is one of the most divisive brands in America.

I'm not surprised.

What's also not a surprise is NFL is happy to insult America--until it impacts their bank accounts.

Here's some advice:  The clueless NFL, Hollywood celebs and rock stars should shut the Hell up about politics.

Paul Joseph Watson Video: "Take a Knee" is Total Bullshit

We should be focusing our attention on the crisis in Puerto Rico which was devastated by Hurricane Maria.  Which by the way, Our Grand Nagus is pushing back against accusations of slow relief response.

Not to mention the on-going issues beyond our territories.

Last week instead, leftists were triggered by Trump's tell that son of a bitch he's fired comment directed at NFL players who won't stand during the National Anthem.

In addition to Paul Joseph Watson video, featured above, Gregg Gutfeld reminded us it it wasn't Trump who politicized the game.

During my active duty days, we were told we could participate in marches and demonstrations--as long as we weren't in uniform.

NFL players wear uniforms, and the ones who "take a knee" during the National Anthem are not only disrespecting our flag, but their fans as well.

People go to sporting events to enjoy their leisure time--not to be subjected to someone's political-social pet peeves.

This also goes for the coaches and owners who support this bullshit.

You want to take a knee during the National Anthem?

Do so outside the stadium--and be sure to take off your uniform when you do.  Or better yet, as Brittany Hughes suggested on her video--take a hike.

SJWs Ruining Fun for Everyone

When my wife and I returned from Oregon, we went about doing chores and preparing for the impending snowstorm.  So I didn't watch Super Bowl LI.

Even though I was born in the Boston area, I've been a lukewarm Seattle Seahawks fan since I first came to Washington State back in the '80s.  In general though, I hardly follow sports at all.

So with all the other issues Donolf Trumpler's administration, like his cabinet picks and trying to suspend immigration from jihadi-infested areas, why am I posting about a subject that I'm ambivalent about at best?

Because leftists insist on injecting their political-social views into everything--including our leisure time--when we want to take a break from reality.

Some companies ran politically-tainted ads.  The Diplomad considered Audi's commercial a Progressive crash test dummy, and Dennis Prager declared Audi is now THE car for the unhappy woman.

Or should that be "...for the unhappy womxn?"

Anyway, a dose of politics and social commentaries in commercials wasn't enough for the Social Justice Whiners (SJWs) who tuned-in.  They're weren't gaga that Lady Gaga's half-time show wasn't overly political.

And became unhinged over the Patriots' win because the owner, coach and key quarterback are all Trump supporters.

But the intrusion of politics isn't limited to the sports arena--

--A few years ago we had Gamergate (a year in review).

--SJWs have invaded comic books.

Not to mention movies and TV shows.

I've been a subscriber to Writer's Digest for years--decades even.  I plan on letting my subscription expire.  Lately, there's been a call-to-arms for authors to write about more diverse characters.  While this may sound innocuous enough--remember most SJW buzz phrases start out this way--I have a hard time believing grade school children are craving to read about gay and transgender characters.

I suspect, just like in comics, this is another top-down decision made by editors and publishers to force material on to readers, of all ages, aren't interested in.

And when it comes to actually doing some actual activist activity, you better not merely set your Virtue Signal on automatic, and walk away.  Taylor Swift found herself afoul of SJWs when she "phoned-in" her support for the Women's March.

(Image:  Screen shot of Blank Space Parody)

Sci-fi author, Brad Torgerson, describes at length how the ctrl-left drove me away from American liberalism.

High-Paid SJW Sits-Out the National Anthem

I don't follow professional sports, and barely watched any of the Summer Olympics in Rio.  While I admire athletic prowess, I despise the prima donna attitudes displayed by a number of athletes.  Especially when these same prima donnas earn more money in a year than an average American will make in their lifetime.

This past weekend one such prima donna sat down during the National Anthem to protest the "oppression of black people."

True, a significant portion of the black community lives in crime-ridden, urban poverty.  But instead of using his success to inspire others, Kaepernick criticizes the country that provides someone from an "oppressed class" an opportunity to become a sports celebrity--and live well above the poverty level.

Does Kaepernick have a right to voice his perceived concerns about oppression of the black community?

Of course.

But I, and many like-minded folks, have the same right to have a low opinion of anyone being disrespectful during the National Anthem.

Memorial Day Malcontents

It seems like we can't have a holiday celebrating the good things about America, and honoring those who made our country great, without some malcontents condemning the festivities.

Normally, I feel somewhat embarrassed when I tell a pack of guys that I don't follow sports.  Oh, I love all our Seattle sports teams and hope they do well each season.  But I feel like I'm suffering from some testosterone deficiency when a conversation turns to sports, leaving me nothing to contribute.

This time, however, I'm glad I'm not someone who tunes-in to every sports channel on the electromagnetic spectrum.

Over the holiday weekend, an ESPN columnist lamented about cops signing the National Anthem, signalling an "authoritarian shift at the ballpark."

The only time I see anything on ESPN is when I'm at the gym on a cardio machine, and I'm in front a a TV tuned to the station.  I'll be sure to keep my exposure to ESPN at this limit from now on.

Unfortunately, this past weekend's sour notes weren't limited to a columnist complaining about who sings the National Anthem.  Just before the holiday weekend got underway, veteran memorials in three states were vandalized.

At least the vandalism didn't seem to be some coordinated effort conducted by the usual activist groups.

Back to the Bathroom Battles

Yesterday's submarine-launched missile fired by North Korea pretty much went unnoticed by the leftist and/or uninformed masses.

Instead, they're too busy celebrating trans-woman Sarah McBride peeing in a N. Carolina women's rest room.

Her actions remind me of one of my dad's wacky sayings:

You can't fight City Hall, but you can piss on the steps.

At least Miss McBride had the courtesy of using the ladies room, and based on her selfie, can at least pass as a natural-born woman at-a-glance:  Unlike the guy I blogged about three weeks ago using the women's locker room at a Seattle Parks & Rec facility by merely "identifying himself as a woman."

Since then, this "gendermandering" has claimed one of it's first high-profile victims:  Curt Schilling of ESPN got sacked for supporting gender-separated restrooms.  My favorite line in Todd Starnes article was:  Traditional values just got double-flushed.

Leftists want to abolish the traditional formula of:  Father + Daughter(s) = Shotgun.

Seriously, decent parents are very protective of their children.  But now little girls must pee next to grown men, and we're being compelled to agree with this.

This is all about "...abandoning nature in favor of the politics of gender."

Political activists should keep their hands off the ladies' room.

(Image from:  Genius--Monty Python Lumberjack Song Annotated)

Otherwise, classic comedies such as Monty Python's Lumberjack Song, (along with a whole host of other "gendermandering" issues) or Some Like It Hot will be "gone with the wind."

But by then having movies and comedy skits shoved down the Memory Hole will be the least of our worries.

With such incessant activism, it's becoming more difficult to always look on the bright side of Life...

Looking Back on 2015

I thought I'd attempt to open the New Year's blogging activity on a humorous note about the previous year, thanks to Dave Barry's 2015 Year in Review.

For the more serious-minded, there's Derek Hunter's The Best, Worst And The Rest of 2015, along with John Hawkins' The 20 Best Quotes of the Year, Todd Starnes' 10 Stories That Fired Up America, and of course, Mark Steyn's Three-Hundred-Sixty-Se'nnight.

But to optimists like John Stossel and Jeff Jacoby, 2015 was a "year half-full."

Here's Stossel's 2015 and Jacoby's Look Again at some of this year's positives.

No matter how bad we think 2015 was, let's hope 2016 is a better year for all of us.

Meltdown at Mizzou (and Other Campuses)

On Saturdays, sports fans around the country tune-in to college football games.  However, it's uncertain if the Mizzou football team will be suiting-up.

They may still be too busy protesting.

Initially, I only scanned the headlines of this on-going saga, but the situation escalated in a matter of days.  The epicenter of discontent occurred at Missouri State U, "Mizzou," where  college kids are unhappy with the school president's response, or lack thereof, regarding racism, social injustice and of course the so-called "white privilege."

Apparently, Mizzou's president didn't move fast enough, to address their grievances--real or imagined--nor are his responses in PC-compliance.

Jonah Goldberg wondered if these campus commotions show we're raising fragile kids.

The short answer is:  Yes.

PJ Media which has gotten into the YouTube act, and posted Missouri U in Chaos as PC Police Crackdown.

At Claremont McKenna College, the Dean of Students was forced out and Mark Steyn concludes:  Tomorrow belongs to them (as in the college cry babies).

Guy Benson calls today's universities "petri-dishes of grievance-mongering" as more campuses are gripped with anti-freedom hysteria.

Sultan Knish examined their tactics in his article: Crymobs, Crybullying and Left's Whiny War On Free Speech.

For sports fans:  I hope you enjoy today's games.

As for the Mizzou football players, be careful what you wish for...

New England Edges Past the Seahawks in Superbowl XLIX

The New England Patriots snatched victory from the beaks of the Seahawks, thanks to a last-minute interception.

Highlights of Superbowl XLIX can be seen in the photo gallery.

Despite the outcome, I enjoyed watching the game.

Congratulations New England fans.

Seahawks Superbowl Bound!

Starting off the week with some good news for a change:

This past Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks pulled off an amazing down-to-the-wire win against the Greenbay Packers for the NFC Championship in overtime.

My wife and I had to run several errands that day, but we turned on the TV when there was 6:53 minutes left in the game and Greenbay was leading 19-7.  The Seahawks made a spectacular come-back, but Greenbay didn't quit, scoring a field goal, tying the game 22-22.

All it took was a few minutes into overtime for the Seahawks to score a touch-down and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, with a final score of 28-22.

Here's the nine biggest moments of the game.

Now the Seahawks will face the New England Patriots, who defeated the Indianapolis Colts during the AFC Championship Game, in Superbowl XLIX.

To say us 12th Man fans are excited to see the Seahawks return to the Superbowl is an understatement...

Billionaire Banned Big Time

I don't usually don't follow sports.

However, as I spent the past several days working in and around the yard, I glanced at the headlines about some racist comments made by some guy named Sterling, who happens to own the LA Clippers.

Then, yesterday I stumbled across Ann Coulter's comments about a man of sterling character.
She has a point.  The media's all but ignored the fact this "Sterling character" is married--and has been openly carrying-on with a gaggle of mistresses for quite a while.

Mark Steyn exacts his pound of Sterling not only against the billionaire buffoon, but the circles he, and his trophy gals, have traveled in.

But in addition to the usual Steynian tongue-in-cheek lashing, Mark warns that not only does loose lips ship Clips, but can result in a complete loss of privacy, private property--and even freedom of speech.

While Sterling is being hounded to sell the Clippers; in the UK, one can get busted for quoting Churchill.

Maybe it's time to buy a copy of The River War before it's banned.

A Reason to Celebrate!

Time to take a brief departure from posting about the sad state of affairs that plague our nation and the world at large.

Five days ago, the Seattle Seahawks made sports history and won their first Superbowl, which probably is cause enough for you readers outside the Pacific Northwest to say "WTFO?"

I don't follow sports, but ever since I was first stationed here in Washington State at the beginning of my military career, I've considered myself a fan of all of Seattle's teams.  I'm just not that into it like these guys...

Yesterday, Seattle held a victory parade for the Seahawks and just as importantly, for the "12th Man" fans.

Initially the city elders were expecting 200--300,000 fans.  Instead, over 700,000 showed up.

While the equivalent of 10% of Washington State's population, braved the cold, lined the streets and filled both of Seattle's stadiums; half a world away, visitors to Sochi, Russia are contending with deplorable living conditions.

The security concerns about the upcoming Winter Olympics held in a region infested with islamist terrorist hopefully, will not be the subject of any future blogpost.  I pray the games go off without a hitch.

In the meantime:

GO HAWKS!

She Wailed...

...unfortunately, not in a good way.  Last night, Christina Aguilera sang the National Anthem at the opening of Superbowl XLV.  Unfortunately she, flubbed a line or so and hit some sour notes.

I found the article on ABC's website to be the most even handed the celebrity faux-pas:

As the article mentioned, Christina wasn't the worst National Anthem offender.  Other websites, like CBS, made excuses for her (stage fright), while others, like MTV, thought she did fine.  Christina said she got caught in the moment and lost her place.

Eh.  Could happen to anybody.  At least she didn't deliberately sing off-key like Rosanne Barr did.  And besides, she's much more attractive than Rosanne...

But beautiful or otherwise, the National Anthem should be sung in it's traditional manner.

Note to celebrities:

Do not add any of your spin, soul, funk, jive, jazz, do-wap, boo-boo-bee-boop, or your "style" to any song with words like "National," "America," or "Anthem"  incorporated in the title.  They are not your songs to mangle as you please--they are our country's.  So show them the respect they deserve.  (And in turn, you'll win more respect for yourself).

Even in Sports, a Bear Can't Change it's Fur

Russian President Medvedev, Vladimir Putin's stunt-double, called for all  "those responsible" for Russia's less-than 24-karat showing at the 2010 Winter Olympics to resign.

4th Place Medal has the story:

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Russia-red-faced-after-poor-Olympic-showing?urn=oly,225028

But maybe Russia has reformed.  After all, resigning is better than being sent to the Gulag Archipelago...

The 2010 Olympics Come to a Close

Last night the 2010 Winter Olympics came to a close.

My wife and I made a last-minute, overnight trip up to Vancouver, BC, to watch the short track speed skating (26 Feb).  It was the most intense sporting event I ever attended!  Prior to that, I managed to catch snippets of the games on TV, like the vast majority of folks.  Even without the Olympic hoopla, Vancouver is a beautiful city and I'm glad my wife and I had the opportunity to attend such a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Some closing comments from the news agencies, first on the closing ceremony:

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=reu-closing_pix_tv_graphics&prov=reuters&type=lgns

The climatic sporting event was he US-Canada hockey game:

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/ice_hockey/news?slug=jp-hockey022810&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

While I'd preferred a different outcome, this was one of the best games in any sport, I've seen on TV.

Here's a good commentary regarding the "good, bad & ugly" of the 2010 games:

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=dw-winnerslosers022810&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

My personal favorites:

1. Joannie Rochette's heart-rending story and beautiful performance

2. The Canadian Women's Hockey Team "scandal" (see previous post)

3. The US-Canada Hockey Game, and last but not least,

4. The events I personally attended; which were--the Men's 500 Meter, Women's 1000 Meter and Men's 5000 Meter Relay Races.  Katherine Ruetter won the Silver Medal in the 1000 Meter, while Team USA won the Bronze in the 5000 Meter Relay.  The only thing missing from this experience was hearing our National Anthem played at one of these award ceremonies.

While the Canadians did a great job as a host nation, the American network, NBC's performance earned a "4th Place" medal.  Throughout the course of the Olympics, NBC time-delayed airing nearly all the events until prime time, usually starting at 8 PM.  With today's internet connectivity fans can receive news of their favorite event in real-time.

And for the closing ceremony, NBC cut to a newly hyped program.  4th Place Medal has the details:

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/NBC-awkwardly-and-abruptly-ends-Olympic-coverage?urn=oly,224859

Despite the such clunkers, my thanks goes to the people of Canada for hosting such a memorable Olympic event!
