Today's Higher Education Wokeness Factories

For many kids and teens, today is their first day back to Indoctrination Centers, formerly known by such quaint terms as "schools," "colleges" and "universities."

These Centers for Snowflakes are part of the fractures in today's Western Civilization.

No one is being taught Civics anymore, probably not since I attended high school in the '70s.

That's why the hue & cry over abolishing the Electoral College is so popular among Millennials--not to mention Dimtard politicians who want to "stack the deck" for every future election.

We've all heard crazy campus stories before.  Unfortunately, this school year is turning out no different.

Here's just some appetizers to start off the Fall Semester--

--A University of Texas professor tweeted Trump is a Nazi--and so are all his supporters.

--While at Portland State University, a professor is being punished by the campus politburo for proving Gender Studies was a joke.

--And just when we thought STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) were safe from being social justice whining, we discover Stanford University is now offering a "woke" physics class.

If my current wife & I had K-12 aged kids, we'd seriously consider homeschooling them--and encourage them to go to Trade School.

Huge Hypocrisy Over College Admissiongate

Early last week, news broke of a huge scandal over admissions to elite universities, netting 50 individuals charged, including 2 Hollyweirdos.

The Diplomad is having a laugh at hypocritical, high profile leftists (see A.F. Branco's cartoon above).

Meanwhile, Liz Wheeler calls them out, along with pointing out the failings of leftist feeling of entitlement.

And then there's the sense of irony illustrated in Bob Gorrell's cartoon:

Stilton's Place called this School of Fort Knox scandal amusing, but a distraction from bigger issues.
(Like the mass murder at two mosques in New Zealand)

While I agree Stilton for the most part, Admissiongate is important for us like-minded folks to be aware of how deep and entrenched the sense of entitlement runs among our well-to-do.

In there minds, as Mark Steyn often said about Crooked Queen Clinton:  Laws are for little people.

And speaking of little people with little blogs, ever since Commissar Cortez announced her Green New Deal (see last post), and most of the Donkey Drove going full-Marxist, I've started posting political material regularly on Facebook.

Not only did I post Bob Gorrell's cartoon above on Facebook, but also this one by Michael Ramirez...

...with the following comment:

Another lesson of the College Bribery Scandal:
Don't take advice from celebrities on political, social, or life-hack matters; or look to them as role models.
For the amount of money the Hollyweirdos sunk into bribes, they could have hired top-notch tutors and personal trainers for their slacker offspring.

I'll try to maintain some sense of humor about my direct posting to social media, mostly in the form of political cartoons I like.

My leftist acquaintances have been making their voices heard--loudly--and I've been letting them have their say.

But since they now want to Make America Venezuela, I don't plan on remaining silent any longer.

Leftist Triggered by Trump's SOTU (2019)

Last Tuesday (5 February), I was on-duty and was able to watch most of Our Grand Nagus' State of the Union (SOTU) Address (entire video via PBS).

I liked it, so did The Diplomad, and about 76% of the viewers polled by CNN. Michael Barone found Trump's SOTU surprisingly reflective and disciplined, while The Amazing Lucas said Trump "killed it."

You know who didn't like Trump the Usurper's speech?

Democrats, and leftists in-general.

Not what I'd call a surprise.

Liz Wheeler provided us with a synopsis on the 8 things Democrats refused to applaud for.

They didn't even like being called "Democrats" and prefer to be called "Democratic."

To be honest, I didn't know this.  I thought the term "Democratic" referred to a political process and not a political party.

Anyway, the "Dimocrats" as my friend & I like to call them, certainly showed their true colors during the SOTU...

The Great Whitedoors

Now that the Holiday Season is upon us, many people will "hit the slopes," or do whatever winter-ish activity their locale, or vacation destination has to offer.

However, to at least one college snowflake doing so is exerting one's White Supremacy.

WTF!?  Seriously?

Just when you think there's nothing left for libtards to be triggered over, they come up with some other fun and/or normal activity that should be cast down the Memory Hole.

Kinda like our jihadist enemies.

It's no wonder why they get along so well.

Louder With Crowder concludes:  There's no pleasing these dinguses.

Diogene's Middle Finger wonders if waking up stupid every day is painful.

Apparently so, for one to be constantly triggered.

Good Grammar Declared Racist

(Image found on YouTube video Understanding the Culture University of Tacoma Washington Says Grammar Is Racist)
A couple days ago, Comrade Karla notified us that the University of Washington, Tacoma Campus' Writing Center declared good grammar was racist.

Unfortunately this kind of stupidity isn't new, just new to Washington State's campuses. Gregg Gutfeld responded to the Guardian's (UK) similar claim several months ago.

An on-line friend wondered if we've been invaded by aliens.  I responded that an alien invasion would remove the stigma that humans can't be this stupid.

At least we have a new banner to wave in front of the Social Justice Whiners...

Backing Out Of Berkeley

Well, Firebrand Ann ended up cancelling her speech at Berkeley yesterday.

She managed to chat with Tucker Carlson last night about another dark day for free speech.

Her talk's theme:  Enforcing existing immigration laws that have been on the books for years--generations actually.

Firebrand Ann's speech wasn't the only venue shut down due to threats of violence.

Tomorrow's 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade has been cancelled.

The reason:  Because members of the Multnomah County Republican Party were going to participate in the parade.

Greg Gutfeld and The Five crew called it another victory for the anti-free speech movement.

But as Mark Steyn points out in his The State vs Free Speech article, this "new" movement isn't new at all, but has been active for several years.

Whether old or new, Hannity reminded us in his opening monologue that stifling free speech should trouble every American.

Today's Kids are Cool with Communism

(Image from:  The People's Cube)
A few posts ago, I complained about collusion and corruption in the media, in government, the Democratic Party, and voter fraud in the electoral process.

People--except Our Corrupt Queen--have been fired, resigned their posts, or put in jail as a result of the recent "October Surprises" issued by WikiLeaks and Project Veritas.

In the long run, they probably shouldn't have bothered, and could have kept their jobs.

According to the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, nearly "...half of Americans aged 16 to 20 said they would vote for a socialist, and 21 percent would vote for a communist."

This does not bode well for the Republic.

A good-sized chunk of the problem is:  Americans don't read...and that's affecting our elections.

No kidding.

With only 38% of today's high school seniors capable of reading proficiently.  This means the remaining 62% can be easily duped into believing bumper sticker-sized leftist slogans, because they don't have the mental stamina to delve into communism's horrific history.  Nor can they comprehend what constitutes a thriving economy.

Once these seniors graduate, and a portion of them go to college, they'll fall in lock-step with similarly duped snowflakes, whining that demands for freedom of speech is "...often used as a cudgel against them."  Causing them to melt, no doubt.

Then these college grads will the work force...

(Another image from:  The People's Cube)
...or worse, become dependent upon the government or work within the system as bureaucrats; or more ominously--become politicians--and thereby get their hands on the levers of power.

Even if Trump triumphs on Election Day, us like-minded voters will still be conducting a "holding-action" for the rest of our lives.

"Stopping White People" In My Hometown University

I never thought my hometown of Binghamton, NY would be the subject of one of my "WTF?" posts.

However, since it is the home of Binghamton University I should have known better.

Last night, I caught a segment of FOX News' Kelly File about the Residential Assistant (RA) training program known as #StopWhitePeople2K16.

Of course, all things are good under the veneer of "diversity," right?

The Megan Kelly video hasn't been posted on line yet, but the gist of the guest's response to this was:

Can you imagine the outcry if anyone in the country attempted to host a "#StopBlackPeople2K16?"

Indeed.

This story, along with New York's crazy gun laws, makes me glad I'm no longer a subject of the leftist Moffs and Grand Moffs ruling The Empire State.

The Neutering of Western Civilization

(Image from:  GruntMafia's Facebook Page)
It's often said that "Rome fell from within."

Every time I read a news story, and select one to post on this blog, I feel Western Civilization in general, and America specifically, are teetering on the brink of collapse.

The sapping of spirit starts with the indoctrination kids receive during their K-12 years.

For example:  Early last week, teachers in NC were told not to call students "boys" or "girls."

And the "death by a thousand cuts" continues on through the "snowflake years" of college and on into adulthood, until an entire segment of society finds some "micro" issue to be upset over.

John Hawkins counts down the seven dumbest things that offends liberals.

I'm sure the list is longer than seven, and unfortunately seems to grow on a daily basis.

Snowflake Students & Faculty Going Full-Soviet

While there's no massive protests erupting--at the moment--there's still plenty of work for Social Justice Warriors (SJWs), snowflake students and the flaky faculty of universities to do.

Apparently, there's been a push on Yale University to rename the John C. Calhoun residential college, because Johnny C was a supporter of slavery.  Roger Kimball does one better and scathingly suggests the entire university be renamed because Elihu Yale was heavily involved in the slave trade.

But names aren't the only things being target to be chucked down the Memory Hole.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is claiming that the removal of 80-year-old murals is a "business decision."

Someone on Facebook, where I found this story, suggested that alumni make a business decision of not contributing to their alma maters anymore.

Comrade Karla had this to say about the Yale story:

Well, it doesn't get much more Soviet than this. I truly wonder how anybody is learning anything in universities anymore--you can't understand history by pretending it didn't happen--or worse, rewriting it to suite some ideology du jour. Orwell would have recognized this in seconds.

History Going Down the Memory Hole

(Image from: Ex-Army's post about Social Justice Warriors)

It's Monday morning, and in campuses across America students are filing into their classrooms--or logging on-line.

But what are they learning?

In regards to history and culture, especially that of Western Civilization, practically nothing.

Patrick Deneen lamented how a generation lost its common culture.

Meanwhile, here in the Pacific Northwest, the students of Western Washington University haven't lost its culture, but are attempting to flush it down the Memory Hole.

Today's up-and-coming social justice warriors (SJWs) want to ban history, or at least the traditional concepts of history, to include changing the name to "Hxstory."

There are times that make me wonder if I should pursue a doctorial degree.

But then when I read stories like these, I want to stay as far away from "wackidemia" as I possibly can.

I can imagine myself being declared a serial micro-aggressor by the Campus Comintern.

Censored Speech and Cultural Appropriation

It's no secret that us middle-aged fogeys are often bewildered by the younger generation.

For starters, most of us older types are firm believers in unconditional free speech.

Don't like what I have to say, or write?  Then don't listen to me, or read my material.

Unfortunately, Millennials are cool with censoring speech they find "offensive."

I guess scurrying to their safe rooms isn't enough for them.  Stephen Moore wonders Who created these campus whiners?

Regardless of their collective origin stories, the "crybullies" won't be content until they've silenced dissenting opinions wherever they exist.

Not only has the Freedom of Speech drawn the ire of the PC Commissars, so has the Pursuit of Happiness.

Apparently, one cannot conduct classes, workshops, panel discussions, etc. unless one is "culturally aligned" to the event.  The most recent case is the University of Ottawa suspended a yoga class due to a "cultural appropriation" dispute.

The online friend that notified us of this latest PC clampdown asked:

Does this mean ALL ethnic restaurants are off-limits to anyone not of that culture?

I wouldn't put it past the Cultural Appropriation Commissars to come up with something like this.

Another on-line friend asked:

When will this all end?

It won't until we push back.

Hard.

Ben Shapiro notified the whiney Mizzou students to toughen up.

And it looks like the yoga classes at the U of Ottawa are still being offered after all (see update at the bottom of the Townhall article).

"Free" Community College For All

A week ago, Our Dear Leader announced a proposal for providing free community college.

This "freebie" is estimated to cost taxpayers $60 billion--and the students will still have to pay for books, room & board and "fees."

Ann Coulter explains why college is so expensive in the first place, along with being loaded with a lot of "empty intellectual calories."

Seminar on Russian Gangs

Last week I attended a one-day seminar on Russian gangs.  The speaker was Al Valdez, PhD., a specialist on youth violence and gang sociology.  He is also the author of Gangs: A Guide to Understanding Street Gangs.

He was a very informative, engaging and amusing speaker.  I highly recommend attending any training session he teaches.

He can be contacted via his website at:

His book is available through Amazon.com:

While we were given handouts, watched several short videos and had the opportunity to buy his book, I managed to jot down the following notes--

Quote from Vincente Fox, President of Mexico:

It is not the drugs or the guns, but the money that causes problems

Everybody has a price

Introductory Notes:

Joining gangs can be a matter of survival for teens in poorest parts of the world.

China is dumping money into S & C America to exploit its resources and build ports, which could inlfuence South American gangs and organized crime.

When you have a corrupt society, there is no one you can trust. Everyone wears multiple hats and have multiple personalities.

World-wide drug market: $400 billion.

US consumes ½ the worlds drugs.

Pot is the #1 illegal cash crop in the US.

Drug cartels use some proceeds for public works—a “Robin Hood” effect.

Generational Gangs:

1st—Turf Gangs, or street gangs
2nd—Market orientated gangs, drug centered
3rd—Mix of political/mercenary elements

--involved in: Politicization, Globalization (assisted by technology) and sophistication.

Concentration of economic and political power of these 3rd Level gangs is equal to, or greater than the GDP of many nation-states. These gangs pose a significant threat to national security (see Mexico).

The activities of gangs reduce the effectiveness of a nation’s police force(s) and military authority.

Russian Social Slang Terms:

Stilyagi—Youth’s imitating western culture.

Khippie—hippies

Fanaty—rowdy soccer fans

Pacifics—Punk rockers

Rokery—Biker gangs

Metallisty—Metal band fans.

Banda—generic term for gangs

Pakhan—boss

Bezprisornye—the current, generic term for gang.

Vorovskoy Zakon—Thieves Code.

American gang culture is/has been exported due to globalization.

“Mim”—mimicking cultures.

Gangs in Russia:

Gangs and organized crime (OC) have existed for 400 years, but first documented between 1918—1921. Then described as hooliganism.

1927—The “Neglected Children,” or “Gezpriornye,” orphans of the Russian Civil War and WWI. Russians used the term Informal Youth Groups (IYG). Russian delinquency reached as high as 70-75%.

In Russia, gang members are often coworkers.

Prison gangs formed first, then street gangs. (Whereas in the US it was just the opposite).

Poverty has played a big role. Many people are merely opportunistic, in order to take advantage of goods and services that are in short supply.

From 1960s-1980s over 35 million people were incarcerated in the USSR. (Compared to about 3 million in the US today).

Now about 28-30 million Russians have prison tattoos (“tatted”).

Russian prison gangs were known as the Society of Thieves or Thieves World.

From 1945-1953 prison violence was known as “The Bitch War.” During WII, many prisoners accepted Stalin’s promise of parole if they’d join the army and fight. When the war was over—they went back to prison and were looked down upon by the other prisoners. Called “Suki,” or bitches.

9 Nov 1989—The Berlin Wall falls.

25 Dec 1991—The USSR falls.

These events left a power vacuum in Russia in which OC took over.

1st US criminal activity of Russian Organized Crime (ROC)--?

There are now 200 ROC groups operating in the US.

ROC is now transnational. While in the US ROC has banded together with other gangs.

Nicknames: The Red Mafia, or Red Fellas.

Gang Initiations:

“Entry fee” into a gang is a “beat-in,” or “jump-in.” That is, the candidate is beaten by members in order to be accepted. Sometimes a “crime-in” can be done in place of a beat-in. For girls, they enter a gang through a “sex-in.” They do this for protection against physical or sexual violence. The girls are most often underage.

Gang Culture:

Spread through music--rap being the most popular.
Attracts 13-16 yr-olds.
4-11% of gang members are female.

There are 3 types of female gangs:

1. Auxiliaries of a male gang
2. Coed gangs
3. All-female gangs.

Most female gangs disappeared in Russia by ’96 and are now coed gangs.

19-24 yr-olds constitute 70% of gang members
10-30 yr-olds constitute 85% of gang members

Market types:

White—1st Tier, or legal goods
Grey—2nd Tier, or restricted goods, possibly illegal
Black—3rd Tier, or illegal goods

Gang Violence:

Violence is a universal language.

Violence is a strong cohesive force in the world.

Crime statistics can be skewed due to advances in modern medicine. Most shooting victims are rushed to the ER within the “Golden Hour,” where they stand an 85% chance of survival. Therefore, statistically speaking, deaths due to violent crime appear to have gone down, when in actuality, crime rates are escalating.

92% of gang violence is done with handguns.

Gang Organization:

Elite--Top Tier
Support and Security--Middle Tier
Working Teams--Low/Street Tier
Street operators do not know the identity of the upper tier leaders.

Typical Gang Activities:

Fuel Frauds
Fake IDs
Extortion
Telecommunications Fraud
Medical Goods & Services Frauds
Medical and Auto Insurance Frauds
Loan Sharking
Auto Theft
Murder and Contract Hits
Money Laundering (for ROC primarily through Finland, Cayman Is., Europe and the US).

US Law vs. Gangs

It is not illegal to join a gang in the US. The Freedom of Association is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Therefore, US military and employees have to hire gang members.
