Istanbul Airport Bombing

Earlier today, three suicide bombers self-detonated at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.

ISIS is eyed as the prime suspect in the attack.

Reading the account so far, the attack reminds me of a classic/medieval assault against a fortress:  One bomber self-detonated outside the terminal, then the other two made their way inside and wrecked havoc.

The death toll now stands at 42 killed and 239 wounded.

The attack is also similar to the Brussels Bombing.

And still the best our PC-laden leaders can come up with is extending the "security zone" at airports.

Mark Steyn pointed out the fallacy of the insecure security line.

Brexit the Beginning?

Well, on Friday the Pound plunged in the wake of the Brexit Referendum.

Gloom & Doom is the prevailing outlook among leftists on both sides of the Atlantic.

From their point of view, they have a reason to be concerned as other member nations may follow suit, which in turn, could be the beginning of the end of the European Union.

True, Britain and any other nation may be worse off for leaving the EU.  But the Continent in it's downward spiral, us like-minded folks believe Britain will be definitely worse off if it stays on board (as depicted in the led image).

Whether or not "HMS Britannia" sinks or floats, the majority of Her Majesty's Subjects decided to take matters into their own hands, rather than be ruled by the un-elected (and unaccountable) Brussels Bureaucrats.

Britain Votes to Leave the European Union

I'm just waking up to this news:

Yesterday, Britain voted to leave the EU.

I haven't blogged about the contentious "Brexit" vote among our cousins across the Atlantic until now.

My opinion of international organizations like the EU, and especially the UN is low--even lower than my feelings towards many of our national agencies.

So my off-the-cuff reaction is that I'm glad Britons voted to remain an island nation politically and economically and not just geographically.

A lot of folks cited economic benefits for remaining within the EU, but as Mark Steyn has commented throughout his writings on this matter--there's more at stake than money.

With the continent being overrun with Muslim "refugees" and jihadists in the fold; Britons, at least 52% of them, are looking at preserving what remains of their culture.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of tea-leaf reading in the days ahead as to whether or not Brexit is beneficial to Britons, and the rest of the world.

But in the meantime, I'll cheer:  Rule Britannia!

Some Understand the Threat, Some Don't

A few days ago, I mentioned there was a rise in gun sales among those in the LGBT community.  One such member, Nicki Stallard, wrote this op-ed that the NYT actually published:  The L.G.B.T. Case for Guns.

I hope more folks in the LGBT community ignore the leftist narrative, that guns in general are bad and that anyone who owns an AR-15 is "...up to no good...", and follow her advice:

Buy a gun and get trained how to use it for your own protection.

Especially since Our Dear Leader's Attorney General still can't figure out the Orlando jihadist's motive.

And it's not just the LGBTers that are buying guns either.  Gun sales are spiking across the country.

This despite the sit-in staged by Congressional Democrats to raise awareness of gun control.

Oh, they're raising awareness alright.

Just not in the manner they intended to.

MSM--Sowing What They Reap?

Ever since Our Dear Leader's election in 2008, it became obvious that the non-FOX News media, was composed of committed leftists.  It wasn't that much of a surprise but the veneer of plausible deniability was torn wide open.

Fast-forward to the 2016 election and the media coverage towards the Boorish Billionaire and the Corrupt Queen is just as lopsided as it was in '08.  Maybe even more so.

But not everything is going the lame-stream media's way.

Kurt Schlichter explains how the mainstream media chose a side and now it's paying the price.

Like Kurt, I've shed no tears over the closing or downsizing of liberal newspapers and news magazines.

DOJ ( & White House?) Attempts to Whitewash the Orlando 911 Call

The other day, Our Dear Leader's Department of Justice, tried shoving bits of the 911 call the Orlando Jihadist made down the Memory Hole.

Specifically, references to ISIS and replacing "Allah" with "God."

In the wake of a growing outcry against the feeble excuse of not spreading the shooter's violent ideology--or whatever--the FBI released a more complete transcript (but still replaces "Allah" with "God").

By the end of the day, supposedly the feds released the full transcript of the 911 call, but there's a question as to whether the full audio recording(s) will be released.

At least the gun control measures failed to clear the Senate

Just in case there are any other Memory Hole close-calls about the Orlando Massacre, here's FOX News' full coverage.

We finally heard from The Diplomad with his recent post--Guns, Gays and Lists: The Progressives Go Insane(r)!

Falsehoods About Guns and False Accusations Towards Conservatives

I have to admit, I'm still surprised when Congressional Democrats tell lies about guns.

I guess I shouldn't be, since they've been doing this for as long as I can remember.

However, in the wake of the Orlando massacre, their latest anti-gun tirade has caused at least one liberal blogger to side with the NRA.  While this hardly constitutes political tectonic shift, many in the LGBT Community are buying guns.

Good for them!

But this goes beyond the tools used by terrorist and criminals to commit slaughter.  There's a stark divide over the root cause of this latest mass-shooting.

I've been astounded and baffled by the mental and verbal contortions leftist have engaged in to blame the Orlando massacre on conservatives, Christians, Republicans and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

I'm certainly not the only one.  Folks more eloquent than I am, like Jonah Golberg ask:  Why can't the Left distinguish conservative Christians from Islamic terrorists?

Good question--to which he provides some answers.  I stumbled across two other columns that provide some answers to the Blame Everyone But Islamic Terrorism phenomena:

Derek Hunter explains why they [leftists] hate us [conservatives].

And John Hawkins takes it a step further to tell why liberals support Muslims who hate everything they stand for.

While I may have some answers about leftists' animosity towards conservatives--I'm still astounded and baffled by their attitude and behavior.

Still Not Blaming Terrorism for the Orlando Massacre

Even though the Orlando Jihadist pledged his allegiance to ISIS in his final Facebook message, leftists are still trying to blame the massacre on the National Rifle Association (NRA), Christians, Republicans--whatever and whoever they can think of--anyone, or anything but Islamic jihad.

Despite another Islamic radical shooting up the liberal narrative, the liberal narrative continues.

Fear of Islamophobia will be our doom.

The Predictable Pattern in the Wake of the Orlando Shooting

Over the weekend, while I was off-line,
49 people were killed, and another 53 wounded at "The Pulse" nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

And, of course, the non-FOX News media, Democrat politicians, and leftists activist groups blamed the shooting on--

--Anti-gay attitudes among conservative Christians  (the Pulse is a gay bar)

--Gun ownership

Anything but Islam.

Basically, leftists choose to "...protect Islam at all costs, even at the expense of other victim groups."
Especially, the Top Two; Our Dear Leader and the Corrupt Queen, who harp on us to 'disarm' but fail to protect.

It seems that Florida isn't just home to "The Happiest Place on Earth," but is also America's jihadi playground.

As the investigation has unfolded, some plot twists may have been uncovered.  Questions swirl: Did Mateen [the shooter] have an accomplice, and was he closeted [gay]?

The latest being shooter's wife may be charged with being an accessory.

Regardless of the shooter's sexuality, the Left chose Islam over gays.

Meanwhile, as the Islamo-barbarians continue to plot against us, leftists will continue to focus their ire on guns...

WA State Earthquake Exercise

Within the next couple of days WA State Emergency Management, along with a "cast of thousands" will kick-off an earthquake & tsunami exercise.

I'll be working extended hours, so I'll probably fall behind in posting about the daily sad state of affairs.

Maybe that's a good thing.

See you folks at ENDEX (End of Exercise).

Breaking News: Train Derailment in Oregon

I got off night shift this morning, but one of my friends texted me asking if I knew about the Tacoma-bound oil train that derailed in the Columbia River Gorge.

While the accident is technically in Oregon, these incidents have a way of crossing borders, so I'm guessing our emergency management folks are busy, or at least keeping a watchful eye out on this.

Socialism: The Overlooked Fact Sinking Venezuela

When I need an on-line break from the depressing daily news, I often check out Watch Mojo for their entertainment-based "Top 10 Countdowns."

A year or so ago, Watch Mojo branched out and started covering news.  The other day, their Top 10 Facts About the Venezuelan Crisis caught my eye.

They should have called it the "Top 11 Facts."  While the video provided some credible coverage, one fact was missing:  The socialist/dictatorial policies instituted by the late and un-lamented Hugo Chavez, and carried on by his successor Nicolas Maduro.

The most telling comments to the Watch Mojo video come from Venezuelans themselves.  Nearly all of them replied that things are far more worse than any foreign news agency has showed.

And their plight is about to become ruinous:  The inflation rate is projected to spike to 720-1200%.

Like any other despot, Maduro is now in Full Fuhrer Bunker Mode.  According to him it's the American gringos who are to blame for his failure.  He's even gone so far as to humanitarian aid simply because its coming from opposition groups.

Meanwhile, up here in Gringoland, we have Bolshevik Bernie still singing socialism's praises.

I'm always amazed--and baffle--by attempts to reinvigorate socialism/communism since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.  The Venezuelan people are the most recent casualties of this definition of political insanity (trying the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result).

Memorial Day Malcontents

It seems like we can't have a holiday celebrating the good things about America, and honoring those who made our country great, without some malcontents condemning the festivities.

Normally, I feel somewhat embarrassed when I tell a pack of guys that I don't follow sports.  Oh, I love all our Seattle sports teams and hope they do well each season.  But I feel like I'm suffering from some testosterone deficiency when a conversation turns to sports, leaving me nothing to contribute.

This time, however, I'm glad I'm not someone who tunes-in to every sports channel on the electromagnetic spectrum.

Over the holiday weekend, an ESPN columnist lamented about cops signing the National Anthem, signalling an "authoritarian shift at the ballpark."

The only time I see anything on ESPN is when I'm at the gym on a cardio machine, and I'm in front a a TV tuned to the station.  I'll be sure to keep my exposure to ESPN at this limit from now on.

Unfortunately, this past weekend's sour notes weren't limited to a columnist complaining about who sings the National Anthem.  Just before the holiday weekend got underway, veteran memorials in three states were vandalized.

At least the vandalism didn't seem to be some coordinated effort conducted by the usual activist groups.
