Intrudergate Fallout

Three weeks ago, Omar Gonzales scaled the White House fence and made a mad dash across the lawn.

That's what we were originally told.

Over the past couple of days, it's came to light that Gonzales actually made it into the White House before he was subdued.

As a result of this fallout, the Director of the Secret Service resigned yesterday

I'm not surprised by this revelation for two reasons.

First, is the glaring list of past failures.

Second, the agency is following the same Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) the rest of Team Obama uses:  Downplay the incident and hope it doesn't get to big to ignore.  (See any "phony scandal" as an example).

As an aside, I didn't know the Secret Service was rolled into the Department of Homeland Security.  I thought it remained under the Treasury Department.
