Blind to the Obvious

The title of the above cartoon is called "Blinding."  Unfortunately, blindness isn't limited to Islamic extremism.

Our own government is either:
a) blind
b) stupid
c) more interested in hounding conservatives
d) any/all the above

First, there's the judge presiding over the Fort Hood Massacre Trial.  Despite being an American military member, she bared most motive evidence

I can't believe we have to quibble over "motive" when Major Hasan was observed by multiple surviving witnesses shouting "Allahu Akbar!" while gunning down his fellow soldiers.

He's a traitor and deserves to be executed.

Beyond the crumbling ramparts of civilization, there's the on-going Syrian Civil War.

Remember this one?

The international community would like it all to go away, but with no clear winner.   In a sense, western leaders have become blind to the concept of victory.  Richard Fernandez explains the irrational numbers game.

And then there's Egypt.  Mark Steyn points out how everyone else but Team Obama and the Eurozone have reached a consensus about Egypt and are funneling money and/or support to the Egyptian military.  Even the Israelis are siding with the Egyptian military (see yesterday's post).

There's a lot of talk within the US and Europe regarding the supposed lofty ideals both conflicts are supposedly about.  But everyone else, recognize the true nature of both:  Struggles for power.

Not a good time to be taking that vacation any time soon.

Michael Ledeen reminds us, it's war you idiots.
