Three days ago, news broke that the US airlifted $400 million to Iran as detained hostages were released.
The State Department mouthpiece, John Kirby, claimed this was not ransom, claiming the money was funds we froze and are merely giving it back to them.
Funny though, it sure looks like a ransom payment to many Americans. Or as Charles Krauthammer pointed out, the way business is done by gangsters.
Ollie North said this is the latest of O's lies, while Ralph Peters was even more politically incorrect:
It just plain stinks.

And Jonah Goldberg deconstructed the newspeak bandied about by Our Dear Leader and his minions with this zinger: A pay-off that does all the damage of a ransom payment isn't any better, no matter what you call it.
