Breaking News: 13 Americans Killed in Suicide Bomber Attack in Kabul

A suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into a bus carrying US and Afghan troops.  The breaking story can be read in Yahoo News, while the WaPo has several pictures loaded on it's photo gallery.

My like-minded friends are glad he's dead, but as with Egypt, we wonder:  What's next?

What also irritates us, is how everything former President Bush did was bad, yet everything Obama does (according to the Lamestream Media/Ministry of Truth) is good.  As one friend put it:

I have no problem with his death, though I find the (not unexpected) barbaric
means distasteful. I do have a real problem with the clear hypocrisy of the
President and Sec State.

Irony continues for the OWS movement.  Apparently all is not well among those toiling away to feed the masses at the Peoples Democratic Republic of Zuccotti Park.  Or, as Comrade Karla put it:

He sent us this story the other day from the NY Post. 

The plight of the cooks promted the following message traffic:

Can you blame them? The poor souls are working 18 hour days. These people went to this thing because they don't want to work and instead they are working 18 hour days as short order cooks and they aren't even getting paid minimum wage.  What is this called? Irony? Poetic justice? Help me out here...

If only the Bolsheviks had been similarly FUBAR.

I like how the "volunteer security" force was searching tents and other things. I wonder if any of them have ever read Animal Farm?

Turns out the "99%" is really just the 2%

What I'd like to know is what kind of "revolutionaries" are these folks?  Eating "upscale" meals?

Why not get people like, Susan Sarandon and Michael Moore, to cough up some of their money--which is somewhere in the top-tier of the "99%"--and buy truckloads of MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) and bottled water.

This way, no one's toiling away for 18 hours/day.  All they have to do is hand out an MRE and a bottle of water 3 times a day.

This will also have the benefit of keeping the masses so constipated, that no one will be defecating on police cars anytime soon.

Obama Promises "Peace in Our Time"

No one could, or should, argue that our reason for going into Afghanistan in the wake of the 9/11 attacks was a just one.

The rationale to stay and conduct nation-building in a land where the only two things that grow, are poppies and warlords, is certainly debatable.

I've also heard some valid reasons for not invading Iraq while we were still involved in Afghanistan.

How-e-ver, once we've committed ourselves to bringing war to our enemies, we should fight to win.

Over the weekend Obama announced our troops were leaving Iraq by the end of this year.

Obama's "Mission Accomplished" Moment?

A couple days ago, in keeping with his campaign promise, more or less, Obama announced US forces will be out of Iraq by the end of the year.

Does this mean the war will be over?

The first purge in the Occupy (Insert Name of City Here) movement occurred in Charlotte, NC.  The Occupy Charlotte voted it's leader "off the island."  CBS Charlotte has the details on the coup. 

The comments are also enlightening and entertaining.  The friend who sent this particularly liked these two:

Lets all go down there to eat. All of us, even the people that don’t agree with the Occupy policies. If we were respectful of the other people there we shouldn’t be turned away. We can even be politely vocal about disagreeing. It would be hypocritical for Occupy to deny us food and shelter. Let’s overload or highly tax their system and see how it is liked. Most of the non-working individuals there have been sponging off your tax paying way of life for years. Your tax dollars are still be used to keep police in the area and land upkeep. What better way to take some of that back? Be respectful, eat their food. (pig out for a while). Tax their system at the same time you are telling them you are not one of them. Take, take, take from them and give nothing in return. Don’t forget to be polite.

Ding! Dong! The Dictator's Dead.

Today's top story is:  Muammar Qaddafi is dead.  Initially it was reported he was captured.  Apparently, his captivity didn't last very long.  The Huff Post World has a graphic video, which repeats several times, on what appears to be the former Libyan dictator's last moments.

Stories of Qaddafi's unlamented demise are being carried by local news agencies, like Seattle Times, while Yahoo News posted several videos on it's site.

The big, 64-Dinar questions are:  What will happen in Libya now and how will this affect the Middle East?

While the world is certainly better off without Qaddafi, Mark Steyn points out from NRO's Corner, it would have been much better if we killed him a whole lot earlier.

Flea Party Subjected to "Wealth Redistribution"

Redistributing the wealth is cool among the unwashed masses of the OWS (Occupy Wall Street) movement--as long as it's someone else's wealth that gets redistributed.  According to Jammie Wearing Fool, thievery is running rampant among the unwashed masses gathered at Zuccotti Park. 

One of my friends said this about the "entrepreneur," who set up his own donation bucket:

I say hire the guy who was pocketing the cash from the donations bucket. He's exactly the sort of creative out of the box thinker we need in this day and age...


I certainly don't feel sorry for anyone who believes they deserve other people's money.  Especially since, they're not the unemployed, diverse crowd they portray themselves to be.  The "Flea Party's" ideological roots were exposed by Douglas Schoen in the Wall St Journal, along with an entry in Maggie's Notebook.

And it looks like doin' time in an Iranian gulag wasn't enough to deprogram the Peoples Democratic Republic of Berkley's indoctrination program.  In their second public appearance, NBC Bay Area, reports the Wayward Hikers threw their lot in with the OWS crowd.

The "Flea Party," Endorsed By...

...the usual suspects, like:  Commies, Nazis, Iran, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, etc.  If I had any sympathy with the OWS protesters, it would vanish with these endorsements.  This does not bode well.  Pamela Geller gives us "a day in the life" of an OWS protest, along with numerous links to related antics, in her Atlas Shrugs website.

Jason Bradley, in Big Government, says the Democrats should lay down with their "Flea Party" constituents.

Meanwhile, our Dear Leader endorsed the OWS movement (remember when he would even acknowledge the existance of the Tea Party?)--and then headed to the golf course:  From FOX Nation.

And I mean, wa-a-a-y back to, about 115 years.  Chris Bedford pointed out that the Chevy Volt gets the same mileage per charge as a 115-year old car, in Friday's Daily Caller.

Of course, the usual suspects have mobilized to occupy whatever city center strikes their fancy, like Chicago.  My friend reporting from the Chicago Front had this amusing anecdote to add:

I have a cousin who is a trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, and he tells me one of his officemates has hung up a sign outside his office overlooking the street that says "We are the 1%".  It's probably just making the mob even more enraged...

To which, Comrade Karla made the following observation:

That’s an uncommonly well-fed bunch of demonstrators. Somebody should ask the teachers why they aren’t teaching?


Speaking of acedamia, students from the University of Washington (UW) reinforced those holding the line in Westlake Park.

At least no one's defecated on a police cruiser. Yet.  I get upset when folks compare this to the Tea Party.  I don't remember any Tea Party rallies looking like some of the photos here on the UK Mail. 

On the other hand, Chris Cillizza ponders whether or not, the "OWS" movement is a much ado about nothing in this WaPo article.

Let's hope so.

So. What Are We Going To Do About It?

A plot to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador to the US was uncovered the other day and all indications point to Iran.  An operative was caught attempting to gain material support from a Mexican drug cartell, according to Yahoo News.  It looks like Iran is upping the ante, according to FOX News.

And why not?  America hasn't had such a wimpy president since Carter, says James Jay Carafano in this article in the NY Post.

Despite State & Justice Department officials promising Iran will face our righteous wrath, this also harkens back to another wimpy administration.  One friend pointed this out and sparked the following discussion...

The timing of this is pretty suspicious. Same day as the subpoena for Holder to go before the House to testify about fast and furious. Very reminiscent of President Clinton's bombing runs on Serbia the same day as eventful days during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

You read my mind.

[My wife] had a great observation tying this to the Iranian assassination plot in the US -- she asked if the Mexican drug cartel to be hired by the Iranian agents would use Fast and Furious weapons to pull it off.  I did like how Holder ran away from the mic when asked about Fast and Furry-us...

We're going to do the same effective response we always do: Call on the International Community to register their disapproval of Iran's actions. Unfortunately, we don't have diplomatic relations with Iran and so can't use our preferred method of response which is to sent a strongly worded letter to their government.

Lefty Teapartiers?

Can you guess which group of people are the Occupy Wall Street protesters and those who work for a living?

With the protest movement morphing into "Occupy (Insert Name of City Here), the lame-stream media is now drooling over the idea this could be "the Left's Tea Party."  Both MSNBC and CNN wonder if this is an "American Spring."

If this does morph into a Lefty Tea Party, then the protesters should learn to pick up after themselves and refrain from impeding business and commerce.

Amanda Knox Back in Seattle

Yesterday, Amanda Knox, who was accused of killing her roommate in Italy, returned home after an appeals court overturned the conviction.  This story of a local girl made international headlines.  However, I must admit I haven't been following the case at all, so I can't say whether she was wrongly accused, or got off on an OJ Simpson-esque technicality.  Her story has been running all day on the local news stations.  Here's a snippet from The Seattle Times.

A friend of mine posted this on line and I had to hijack it.  I'm sure someone's made a military-style patch out of this.

Wall Street Occupiers Make Demands.

The gals above got a dose of pepper spray couresy of NYC's finest.  Fox News invited folks to read the 13 demands of the Wall St protesters with the caveat of trying not to laugh.

I certainly got a chuckle out of most of them, but here are the noteworthy ones that caught my attention:

--Demand 3: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.  Translation:  They want paychecks as opposed to working for a living.

--Demand 4:  Free college.  But who's going to pay the tenured salary of the professors?

--Demand 9:  Open borders.  This contradicted their first demand, which is to impose trad tariffs.  So goods can't cross borders, but unemployed people can?

--Demand 11:  World-wide debt forgiveness for everyone and every nation.  Yeah, this will instill financial trust when loaning money.

--Demand 12:  Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.  So they can continue their spending spree and stick others with the tab.

If it weren't for Rosanne Barr's comments about re-education camps and public beheadings, this manifesto of adolescent irresponsibility would be very amusing indeed.

Madame De Farge of Occupy Wallstreet

The Occupy Wall Street protest has been brewing for a couple weeks now.  Long enough to have it's own Wikipedia entry.  But if you want the scoop, straight from the lefty protestor's mouth, here's a link to the official Occupy Wall Street website.

I happened to catch the Bill O'Reilly episode mentioned in the Wikipeidia entry and thought this comment was spot-on:   "if you put every single left-wing cause into a blender, this is the sludge you’d get."

However, a lot of Americans are facing true economic hardships.  Unfortunately, the truly needy get lost in the belfry of the moonbats.   Dan Gainor, of FOX News, illustrates this better than I can.

The has now spread to several cities across the US, but even that didn't get my attention until Rosanne Barr made her guillotine comment. 

In case you're wondering, the photo above is of Robespierre.  Or rather, Robespierre's head.  He thought it was pretty cool to guillotine enemies of the state--until he found himself lying, face-up underneath the blade.

(Lack of) Due Dilligence

Right now there's two scandals brewing:  Solyndra and Fast & Furious.  But it seems like only FOX News and conservative websites are concerned about them.  The rest of the lame-stream media/Ministry of Truth choose not to report these issues.

However, some of Obama's media groupies are waking up and realizing our Teleprompter-in-Chief isn't what he was cracked-up to be back in '08.  Mark Steyn rolls-in on their lack of due dilligence in this OC Register article.
