Barbarians Beyond the Ramparts

Three weeks ago, nearly 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped from their boarding school in Chibok, Nigeria

Now, some of the world powers will aid in the search for the still-missing girls

Nor is Boko Haram, the terrorist organization responsible for the mass abduction limiting itself to the kidnapping business.  The group recently attacked another village, reportedly slaughtered 200-400 Nigerians

The media breathlessly act like this is a new phenomena.  Sadly, it isn't.  Throughout history, marauders often swept into vulnerable communities carrying off women and wealth, and killing just about everyone else.

I'm afraid we'll be seeing more of this as most of the world powers who are trying to aid Nigeria continue their military draw downs.
